Jennifer Lopez appeared in the latest episode of a roundtable interview on Audacy to promote her upcoming movie The Mother. During the conversation, she said her kids
know they are under the spotlight because of her famous parents. She said,
“They know that there’s a lens on them, and that’s hard. Probably not (a) a very relatable thing to say because a lot of people don’t understand it – but it’s hard for them, I think. And I did that to them, and so again, we have this guilt as moms, what we do and what we brought into their lives. So there’s that part.”
Lopez claimed that she wished she had protected her children from the spotlight. The Wedding Planner actress said,
“Everything. There are so many things. I think being the child of famous parents is not something many people can understand, and I feel for (my kids) for that because they didn’t choose that.”
She added,
“They have just started letting me know how people treat them – so when they walk into the room, that’s what people are thinking about. They’re not seeing them for who they are. And I think that has to be a really hard thing for them. So I would love to be able to protect them from that.”
After breaking her engagement with her now husband, Ben Affleck, in 2004, Lopez married singer Marc Anthony and finalized her divorce from him in 2014. They share two twins, Emme and Maximilian, from their relationship.
