Jennifer Lopez’s Brutal Assessment Of Cameron Diaz’s Career Leaves Fans Fuming: ‘A lucky star who’s been given a lot of opportunities’
Jennifer Lopez is famous for her successful acting and music career. However, the diva is almost equally as popular for being mounted on her high horse and an allegedly brazen attitude. Her baseless feud with Shakira is a prime example. Even another account of her revealed how she refused to perform in a show until given an all-white green room.
These random anecdotes are sure to gain weightage when one actually reads what Lopez had to say about her successful contemporaries, including the likes of Cameron Diaz. When she was 27 years old, the Anaconda star had done a poolside sit-down interview with Movieline in February 1998, which might give her fans a deeper perspective into the celebrity.
Jennifer Lopez and her extreme hubris
During the interview, when asked to comment on Cameron Diaz, Lopez blatantly answered:
“A lucky model who’s been given a lot of opportunities I just wish she would have done more with. She’s beautiful and has a great presence, though, and in My Best Friend’s Wedding, I thought, ‘When directed, she can be good.'”
Little did Jennifer Lopez know that she would have to work with someone she had bad-mouthed so rudely over a decade ago. Down the line, in 2012 both actresses were cast in the movie What To Expect When You’re Expecting. And Lopez’s prior comments on Diaz made things awkward from the start between the two.
An intense head-to-head
According to on-set sources from the film, the two did not get along during the shoot. As per reports from Now, JLo could never endear herself to Diaz, and Diaz allegedly said that Lopez was a nightmare to work with.
Another insider report shared,
“She’s even said that Jen should stick to her day job, meaning American Idol and singing. She demands to eat at specific times, no matter what… she stops work and has an assistant run over to her with a small protein and veg-based meal. It’s driving Cameron crazy.”
Another source shared insider reports with Star Magazine which revealed that the co-stars actively avoided one another. The source said, “They don’t interact much, but when they do, the tension is thick. [Lopez] just acts as if Cam doesn’t exist.”
However, the actresses denied any and all reports of animosity between the two during their appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show for the movie promotion.
