The 53-year-old actress, Jennifer Lopez stepped out shopping this holiday season wearing a special outfit that kept her close to the late singer, Selena Quintanilla-Pérez who also helped her in making the former who she is today.
She played Pérez on the big screen 25 years ago named, Selena, which is based on the true story of the Tejano music star including her rise to fame and tragic death when she was murdered by Yolanda Saldívar at the age of 23.
Sporting a gray graphic T-shirt featuring the late singer, she went for family shopping at Cost Plus World Market with her 14-year-old daughter, Emme, as well as her sister, Lynda Lopez, and niece Lucie. She paired that tee with floral trousers and gray boots along with sunglasses.
She donned the outfit just hours after releasing a Christmas newsletter revealing that she received gifts from the latter’s family.

In the latest edition of On The JLo newsletter on Monday, the American actress revealed some of the heart-touching Christmas gifts she received, with one of them, being gifted to her by the late singer’s family. The Pérez family gifted her some Selena merch including tees featuring the American Tejano singer’s image.
“Suzette and the family sent me a great Selena gift box this week and I loved it!!!” she wrote.
She added,
“I wore this Selena shirt right away to go Christmas shopping. If you like rock and roll tees … these shirts are a super cool gift.”
She also recalled that the singer has had a great influence in her life which is one of the reasons why the singer would don the outfit in this new year.
“Selena was such a big part of my life, so you will see me rocking these in the new year for sure!!! Thank you Q fam!!!”
The gift holds an important meaning to the singer especially because 2022 marked the 25th anniversary of the film’s release with the singer rejoicing in her moments by sharing what she felt through her social media platform. Selena movie was the first movie where the actress starred in a leading role that made her the first Hispanic actress to earn over US$1 million for a film.
