Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have split for a second time even though they finally got around to tying the knot this time. When the duo reunited after their relationship came to a shocking end in the early 2000s, fans believed that they were the ‘IT’ couple, but the split has shaken that belief.
Some even hoped that the divorce filing would be withdrawn. Unfortunately, the couple is still very much moving forward with it. In fact, they have started negotiating their finances and allegedly, it is turning out to be a little difficult. A source told In Touch:
They had no prenup, which complicates things, and what’s at stake are the assets they acquired together during their marriage — the $60 million house they’ve listed for $68 million, and the production company Artists Equity Ben formed with Matt Damon two years ago, which Jennifer also has a stake in.
The source also alleged that although Affleck is willing to compromise to some extent, he does not think that Lopez has a right to have money from Artists Equity. On the other hand, the source claimed that the songstress paid a majority of the amount that their house costed so she wants her money back.
Considering just how in love they were, it seems understandable that a prenup did not come into question. Even they could not have imagined that their fairy tale love story would end two years after tying the knot, but as fate would have it, they are at a crossroads once again.
