Jensen Ackles’ Dream Bromance With Ryan Gosling and Tom Hardy Can Never Come True For 1 Reason
Jensen Ackles started his career in 1996 with guest roles in different TV series. For his portrayal of Eric Brady in the NBC soap opera Day of Our Lives, he not only won the Soap Opera Digest Award for Best Male Newcomer but also got nominated for the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series for three consecutive years.
Jensen Ackles rose to prominence with his portrayal of the protagonist Dean Winchester in the WB dark fantasy drama series Supernatural, aired for fifteen seasons, between 2005 and 2020. He developed a strong bond with his co-star Jared Padalecki during the show. Their bromance has still got fans hooked. However, Ackles once revealed with which other actors he would like to have a bromance.
Jensen Ackles Revealed the Actors with Whom He Would Like to Have a Bromance
Supernatural is a horror series that follows two brothers Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) and Sam Winchester (Jared Padalecki) who drive throughout the United States and wage wars against demons, angels, and even God himself. Although the first season of the series received mixed reviews, the seasons that followed achieved greater critical acclaim.
Ackles’ bromance with Padalecki has been no secret, and their friendship has only grown stronger over the years to the point that they consider each other brothers. However, when one time Ackles was asked which actors he would like to have a bromance with, he said (via SPN_Family):
“I will say there’s some. Well, I just mentioned Tom Hardy. He’s certainly somebody that I admire and respect, and admire his talent. There’s some other contemporaries that I have. I think [Ryan] Gosling is a very talented, underused actor.. although that might be by his own choice.”
While The Boys has not gotten the chance to share the screen with Hardy or Gosling so far and since the show is over now, it is even more unlikely. Hopefully, he will get to do that someday as it would be interesting to see them get along. Fans also believe that Ackles would be great friends with the Venom star.
Jensen Ackles’ Bromance with Jared Padalecki
In November 2020, Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki had to bid adieu to their respective characters in Supernaturals. They first met each other on the set of the show and have been almost inseparable ever since. They got married in the same year and were each other’s groomsmen.
Speaking to E! News of their friendship in 2019, Ackles said:
“We really dealt with it from a friendship level and not business partners, and I think that that’s been one of the great things that I’ve gotten from this show is such a great friend that knows me so well, but also somebody that I can work with on a level that I’ve never worked with anybody else in my life. So we understand that it’s pretty rare and may or may not ever happen again.”
Their off-screen friendship is the key that contributed to the longevity of their on-screen partnership as brothers. Even Padalecki’s infamous brush with the law on assault and public intoxication charges did not affect his friendship with Ackles who had his friend’s back at all times without hesistance.
