Some audiences are still optimistic for Supernatural to return in the future and one star has his ideas on a possible new life for the show.
Jensen Ackles Has Ideas for a Supernatural Revival
In an interview with TV Guide, Jensen Ackles talked about the possibility of a Supernatural revival. When asked about him and co-star Jared Padalecki, he conveyed a potential development of a big-screen comedy together. He also joked that their CW series was full of chaos. And reported he has intentions for how to bring back their show, pointing towards HBO Max. This is what Ackles said:
“I kind of feel [Warner Bros.] was watching 15 years of a small-screen buddy comedy! I have this lofty dream of when, after things have settled, we’ll tackle one more case as Sam and Dean. I’ve got a few ideas. [Maybe] a nice 10-episode short-order for HBO Max, I’m just saying. Like a whole True Detective meets Supernatural. It’s right there.”
The potential Supernatural revival would likely take a psychological prequel strategy, where the story would follow the overall timeline of the show. Even though, Supernatural is known for bringing various characters back from the dead. For example, Sam and Dean themselves came back on countless occasions. But, Ackles teasing the idea of a true Detective-like approach can potentially reach the Supernatural revival. The project could eventually find a way for Sam and Dean to recall one of their cases from the past while still up in Heaven. It will also avoid the risk of any audience disappointment.
