The actor is recently garnering headlines after a Youtuber uploaded a video of some high-profile celebrities and politicians claiming that they were well acquainted with s*x offender Jeffrey Epstein with the Canadian star being one of them. However, he has decided to take some strict actions towards the same.

The 61-year-old Holywood star, Jim Carrey has been garnering negative attention ever since his name was included in the list of high-profile celebrities who were allegedly associated with the infamous Jeffrey Epstein. It all began to happen when famous Youtuber, Vincent Briatore uploaded a video on January 16 regarding the same that amassed 2.8 million views so far.

In regards to that, the actor is now willing to take some legal action to stop the YouTuber from defaming him in any way. He has already sent a hard cease and desist letter to him through his lawyers asking him to take down the video.

One of Carrey’s lawyers, Julianne Heitzer stated,

“Your false statements and false impression cause substantial damage to Mr. Carrey’s personal reputation in that they intentionally mislead the public to believe Mr. Carrey had a relationship with Jeffrey Epstein and knowledge of his well-documented crimes and exploits…thus exposing Mr. Carrey to public hatred and contempt.”

Not just that, RadarOnline reported that the legal letter stated that he had never met with the convicted s*x offender, nor did he travel on Epstein’s infamous private jet named Lolita Express. Regarding his infamous Caribbean Island or P*dophile Island, he never went to that place.

While speaking with the outlet, the YouTuber admitted covering this controversial story when he got information about the same on the web. He shared,

“So I made a video featuring the list, his name was in it, and I also made comments about the list.” 

While he still had to do further investigation into the authenticity of the video, he was surprised when the superstar sent an official letter to take down this video.

“It was surprising also that out of all the people named on that list – there was about 25 of them – Jim Carrey, of all people, is the one to really get upset and follow through with it, you know, it’s strange to me.”

Though he hasn’t discussed it with his attorneys yet, he is in no mood of taking the video down. For the unversed, Epstein was convicted of soliciting prostitution from a minor. He was on trial for s*x trafficking charges however he died in 2019 during his await for the trial.
