During an episode of An Oral History of The Office, Jenna Fischer, who played Pam, also opened up about fans being perplexed with the on-screen duo and said:
“People don’t know how John and I are not a couple in real life. They don’t understand it.”
The actress mentioned the difficulty in explaining the on-screen relationship between her and Kransinski, as fans don’t stop obsessing over them. She even stated that it’s like “telling kids there’s no Santa.” However, both Jenna Fischer and John Krasinski are happily married to different people and share a great camaraderie.

While explaining that the love relationship between her and John Krasinski was just for fans to enjoy and connect deeply with their characters, it took an unexpected turn as fans demanded them to become a real-life couple. The Jack Ryan actor is married to Emily Blunt, while Jenna Fischer’s heart belongs to her husband Lee Kirk.

“The bottom line is that we were playing characters, but I know that if people think of us as John and Jenna, then it’s destroying some of the magic of Jim and Pam.”
Not only is Jenna Fischer unhappy with fans being confused with the on-screen love, but even Emily Blunt revealed how “many people still yell out, ‘I wish you were with Pam!'” However, both the actresses share an incredible bond, and as shared by Blunt, she and her husband are great friends with Jenna Fischer.
