Johnny Depp Wins the Internet After Revealing He’s Not the Extrovert Fans Think He is: “I’m quite a shy person & like to wander around places”
After a year of being under an excessive amount of limelight, Johnny Depp now wants a quiet life. He is no stranger to the fame and the craze of the fans, he has been a heartthrob since the 90s and is aware of the impact he has had on the generations. However, he claims he is not at all like the outgoing and daring characters he has portrayed over the years in movies. He is quite the opposite, people sometimes mistake him for a person who he is actually not.
The past few years have been very tough for The Pirates of the Caribbean actor, thus in a recent interview with Somerset Life, he opened up about his life in Somerset and the peace it has provided him with. He is now finally happy to be himself freely away from all the glitz and glamour.
Johnny Depp is very shy
Johnny Depp is past all the partying as he is not a wild young person anymore, according to himself. And after the tumultuous split with Amber Heard, some peace and quiet were definitely much needed for the actor. Therefore, in a recent issue of Somerset Life, he shared his experiences out and about in his new place. He said,
“British people are cool and will greet you as if you are a neighbor without going over the top,–I don’t mind if people want an autograph or a brief chat but not when I am having some private time with my family.”
Depp further added,
“I can go into shops without being surrounded by people wanting selfies. I don’t mind that up to a point, but sometimes it gets a little too crowded.”
The actor then busted the myth about himself saying,
“In truth, I’m quite a shy person,–That’s one of the great things about Britain, and especially Somerset. I can just be me — and that’s nice.”
After the interview got out, many fans related and praised their beloved hero for being a fellow introvert. Here are some of the tweets showcasing the fan reactions,

Johnny Depp is happy he can finally be himself and not be bothered by nosy paparazzi at his every turn. He is finally living life with ease.
Inside Johnny Depp’s tranquil life at Somerset
Evening Standard says, Johnny Depp bought a dreamy property in Somerset, which is about three and a half hours drive from London. He is very excited to spend the coming years in rural England and preparing for every step to settle into a life of quiet. When asked about the reason why he chose this place as his pit stop for the next couple of years, he said,
“I just love places with character. I have various houses in various places and they all mean something special to me. I don’t have them just to say I own them, I have them for use and because they are a bit special,”
The 850-acre, $15.8 million dollar mansion consists of 12 bedrooms and many amenities found in old-timey mansions. The palace is surrounded by beautiful green lush gardens, which is a treat to the eyes. To be very honest, Johnny Depp is now living every cottage-core Pinterest girl’s dream.
He was recently seen in the countryside, picking up some items to decorate his lavish villa. The owner of an antique shop stated Guardian,
“He just bought a lot of very quirky items; a desk chair, three guitars, paint sets, easels, a few pictures, posters – just a whole range of things for decorative items for his own personal property.”
By the looks of it, the actor is having the time of his life in the rural part of England. And fans are finally happy to see their favorite artist is getting some much-needed mental peace.
