However, the actor, despite being shunned, tried making a comeback with Jeanne du Barry. But now, his comeback seems like a distant dream, as the director of his film, Maïwenn Le Besco gets tangled in a legal case.

Sued for allegedly assaulting a journalist, Maïwenn Le Besco is accused of “aggression”. Weeks prior to Jeanne du Barry premiering in Cannes Film Festival, Besco gets involved in a legal case. Unfortunately, Johnny Depp’s legal problems seem to be unending.

Johnny Depp’s Comeback With Jeanne Du Barry

Johnny Depp nearly lost his fame and reputation after his legal entanglement with his former wife Amber Heard. Although the actor won the defamation trial, he was still shunned by Hollywood and canceled all his projects. However, after nearly 1 year of winning the case against Heard, Depp is to make a big-screen comeback with Jeanne du Barry.

Appearing alongside French actress Maïwenn Le Besco, the 59-year-old actor is to enchant his audience with his grappling performance. Depp’s movie is to premiere at Cannes Film Festival on May 16th. Releasing the movie on the same day in cinemas in France, the movie makers are highly anticipating its success. However, just weeks prior to the release of the movie, the director Besco gets sued for public aggression.

Maïwenn Le Besco Accused Of Violence

Making Johnny Depp’s comeback a distant dream, his co-star Maïwenn Le Besco gets tangled in a legal case for allegedly assaulting a journalist in France. As it emerges, the 46-year-old actress/ director is being sued by Edwy Plenel, the editor-in-chief of Medipart magazine. Claiming an alleged attack happening in late February, at an eaterie in the seventh arrondissement of Paris, Plenel accused Besco of aggression and violence.

The complaint filed on March 7th was leaked on Friday by Variety. According to the police reports, the journalist alleged, Besco sitting at a nearby table, came to him and grabbed him by the hair, and spat in his face without uttering a word. Bizarre as it sounds, Plenel was left “traumatized by the incident” as Besco stormed out of the restaurant premise. The journalist later commented, he “personally never had any trouble” with Besco. However, he mentioned, Medipart previously published articles related to r*pe accusations against her ex-husband and father.
