Johnny Depp’s Surprising Gift To 17-Year-Old Coma Patient after Her Parents Opened a Charity in Her Name

Johnny Depp the acclaimed actor in Hollywood has always been known for his charitable work. Despite his busy schedule, Johnny Depp has been seen a lot of time at different social and charitable events. Once such act of kind was done by the actor to help a 17-year-old coma patient which touched the hearts of many.

Johnny Depp Helps a 17-year-old Coma Patient

Back in 2008, Pirates of the Caribbean star Johnny Depp touched the hearts of the fans with a surprising and heartfelt gesture. Responding to the request of a 17-year-old girl’s parents, Depp recorded a tape of physical commands for coma patients.

After a horrifying car accident in 2007, Sophie Wilkinson a 17-year-old girl slipped into a coma. The parents of this girl Andrew and Alison Wilkison requested many celebrities including Depp to record physical commands for Sophie which would help improve her condition. Not only this the parents also developed a charitable origination Wake Up Bank and requested many celebrities to record their voices.

While many of the stars like Sharon Osbourne and Richard Hammond pledged to this program, Johnny Depp was quick to help the parents. Not only did the actor help the parents he also recorded a command for Sophie in the voice of her favorite Pirate of the Caribbean character, Caption Jack Sparrow.

Johnny Depp Donates Money to Children’s Hospital

Johnny Depp has always been in the news for his charitable acts. Even after his recent courtroom drama, the actor donated a huge sum to a children’s hospital. As per the reports Deep apparently raised around 800,000 dollars through the sales of NFTs which he donated to Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation, the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity, The Footprint Coalition, and the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles.

One of the hospitals among these – the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles was one to which Amber Heard had pledged her 7-million-dollar divorce settlement. Even though Heard never made the payment, Depp came out in support of the hospital and made a generous donation. These acts of kind by the actor over the years has indeed touched the heart of his fans.
