Jonathan Majors Guilty of Assaulting Grace Jabbari, May Face Upto a Year in Prison After Losing His Role as Kang in MCU
Actor Jonathan Majors, who appeared as Kang the Conqueror in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has been in the news for the past couple of months due to his legal battle with former girlfriend Grace Jabbari. The actor was arrested in March on charges of strangulation, assault, and harassment after an altercation with Jabbari.
The Loki actor then went on to file his domestic violence complaint against Grace Jabbari, where he claimed she assaulted him and caused him to bleed after she scratched, slapped, and grabbed his face. She was arrested in October, and now the verdict for Majors has been out.

Jonathan Majors found guilty of one count of assault and harassment
Manhattan jury on Monday found actor Jonathan Majors guilty of one count of third-degree assault and one count of second-degree harassment about his quarrel with former partner Grace Jabbari. The actor was, however, acquitted of two other counts of assault and aggravated harassment. Both counts he was convicted on were misdemeanors.
According to ABC News, the verdict that seemed to be mixed can be seen as the jury believing that the actor recklessly assaulted his former partner but did not have any intentions to do so. The jury did not believe the incident, which was described by Jabbari, that the actor assaulted her inside the SUV. However, the jury did believe that he did harass her outside the vehicle by picking her up and throwing her back in.
The actor who was present in the court with his lawyers did not react when the verdict was announced and is scheduled to be sentenced on two charges on February 6th, 2024. The reports suggest that the actor could face up to a year in prison, though it has been mentioned that this sentence is unlikely for a first-time offender.
Jonathan Majors has been asked not to contact Grace Jabbari at any time. Majors’ lawyer, Priya Chaudhry, said in a statement,
“It is clear that the jury did not believe Grace Jabbari’s story of what happened in the SUV because they found that Mr. Majors did not intentionally cause any injuries to her. We are grateful for that.”
She, however, continued and expressed disappointment with the verdict announced;
“We are disappointed, however, that despite not believe Ms. Jabarri, the jury nevertheless found that Mr. Majors was somehow reckless while she was attacking him. Mr. Majors still has faith in the process and looks forward to fully clearing his name.”
During her final statement, Chaudhry told the six-member jury that the altercation between the two and now this case is about simply about the end of a relationship and not about crime. She explained that his former partner made false accusations against the actor who canceled her plans of being Mrs. Majors. Majors’ current girlfriend Meagan Good stood by her man in the court during the two-week trial.
Marvel & Disney drop Jonathan Majors after the verdict
According to the Associated Press reports, after the verdict was announced, Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Corporation decided to end their relationship with the actor. Majors was at one point being considered as one of the actors to look out for in the entertainment industry, and everyone had their eyes set on his career graph.
After the verdict and announcement of being dropped from the MCU, it remains unclear who will take over the character of Kang the Conqueror. It has also been speculated that Marvel could scrap the entire thing around the character and take their vision into a whole new direction.
He was set to appear in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty in 2026 and Avengers: Secret Wars in 2027. After the actor was arrested in March, his public relations firm, managers at Entertainment 360, dropped him as well. He was also cut from several upcoming projects.
Jonathan Majors stands firm on his stand and denies all the accusations.
