Justin Bieber Has Reportedly Fired His Entire Team, Won’t Even Speak to Longtime Manager Scooter Braun
Justin Bieber has arguably experienced highs like no other artist after being discovered as a 12-year-old talent on YouTube.
His potential was spotted quickly, and subsequently, the likes of Usher and Justin Timberlake battled to secure his services and the former won the label bidding war and signed the Canadian artist. In terms of musical success, Bieber hasn’t looked back, delivering some of the biggest hits on Billboard hits over the years.
Still, his growth has also been marred with controversies. Like the highs, not many artists have also seen lows like him. From a murky dispute with a paparazzi to getting arrested for alleged drunk driving, on several occasions, Bieber has shown signs of ruining everything his talent had built. During this roller-coaster of professional and personal life, one thing has more or less remained constant: his close-knit crew.
A Look at Scooter Braun’s Relationship With Justin Bieber
The label RBMG Records that signed Justin Bieber isn’t just owned by Usher but also by talent agent Scooter Braun. Braun came across the youngster’s YouTube video by accident.
“My manager found me on YouTube,” he told MTV News in 2009. “He actually flew me out to Atlanta for the first time. I was going to the studio to meet some people.”
His debut EP was a huge hit but the fame pretty quickly got the better of Bieber, who became the heartthrob of millions of teenage girls during the time, and before he turned 20, it seemed things were falling away from his control and spiraling downward swiftly. The Baby singer said,
“I started going through the motions. I felt like people were judging me all the time. I came out alive. I came out swinging. But I was close to letting [fame] completely destroy me.”
Braun has been a key figure in Bieber’s circle since the start and was even credited by some for his comeback. However, he was quick to push the spotlight toward the singer while speaking for Bieber’s Billboard cover story. “The only person who deserves credit for this is Justin,” said Braun.
However, a recent claim from Industry insider @MyTimeToShineH suggests the 29-year-old hasn’t spoken to Braun in months and has allegedly fired his entire team. No reason for this development has been provided though.
Was Scooter Braun Involved in a Feud With Taylor Swift?
If there’s any truth in the suggestions of Bieber and Braun walking their separate ways then in the upcoming days we will definitely get acquainted with more details about the famous agent. But it won’t be the first time his name would be trending for a controversial reason.
Earlier this year, he appeared on the Season 3 premiere of Bloomberg’s Idea Generation and gave his thoughts on his supposed feud with Taylor Swift. Speaking with Noah Callahan-Bever, he opened up about his 2019 purchase of Big Machine Records, the label that Swift was signed to during the early days of her career. The move led to back and forth with Swift, as Big Machine owned master recordings of her past six albums.
Without mentioning any name, he said:
“I choose to look at it as like, these moments that you think someone is attacking you or these moments you think are unfair, one you play a role in every one of these moments because you are part of the story. And two, you can choose to be angry, resentful, bitter, and actually become the story in your anger, or you can choose to say thank you for playing a role in my growth and move on.”
A year after the purchase, it emerged that the super agent sold the master rights to Swift’s six albums in a deal north of $300 million.
