Her husband, Karl Cook, revealed that their rescue dog Petunia had died. In August, they had adopted the elderly brown Pit Bull after she had suffered a “life of untold loneliness and hardship.”

Her husband revealed they were missing her already after profoundly affecting their lives and touching their hearts. Petunia, a white snouted brown pit bull, dozed peacefully with another Pit Bull in Karl’s first photo.

The couple paid tribute to the bitch on social media

 After the “adoption,” they would have done everything to make the bitch as comfortable as possible. The pit bull did not live long with the couple, but their words clarify how much she had enriched their lives. In Karl’s Instagram post, he shared several pictures and videos of Petunia, including a photograph of the dog sleeping on the couch alongside Kaley. In one video, the dog was happily wagging her tail and running on a patch of grass in the sunshine. Several Instagram users shared messages of condolences for Kaley and Karl in the comment section underneath his post.

“Petunia it is not the amount of time together, but its effects on the soul,” he continued. “You affected everyone who met you. You’re forever my old lady, I miss you so much already, sleep, my sweet angel.” He expressed his sadness. Kaley responded to her husband’s post with several crying emojis.

They had just adopted the senior pup earlier this fall from Paws For Life K9 Rescue. This California organization rescues dogs from shelters and trains some of the puppies to be therapy dogs. Paws For Life K9 Rescue also shared a tribute to Petunia on their social media account, posting a brief video of the dog running. In the caption, the organization wrote that “It is what we hope for every dog we take in, a life adored and cherished, no matter how much time they have.”
