As Prince William and Kate Middleton arrived in the US for the upcoming Earthshot Prize ceremony. The couple has managed to catch the attention of the public for a very different reason. Pictures from their visit to the MGM music hall were uploaded on Twitter recently.
The pictures looked usual until royal fans realized one of the pictures looked really familiar. It eerily resembles a 2020 picture of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry walking under an umbrella in the rain. However, one fan chimed in saying that the original picture where the Duke and the Duchess of Sussex were present was iconic.
Kate Middleton And Prince William’s Photo Draws Comparison
A recent picture of Kate Middleton and Prince William while visiting the Boston music hall is drawing attention for its resemblance to another famous picture. The picture it is being compared with is a 2020 viral photo of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. In the 2-year-old viral picture, Markle and Prince Harry were photographed walking during a downpour under an umbrella together. The picture became instantly viral for its warm and happy vibe. Many called it ‘iconic’ and the photographer himself agreed to it saying, it was the ‘most iconic photo’ he ever took.
The Duke and the Duchess of Cambridge are gearing up for the upcoming Earthshot Prize ceremony in Boston. They recently visited the venue which is the MGM Music Hall in the city. Following their visit, pictures of the two were uploaded via Twitter by Prince William’s team. Both of the pictures looked normal. One was the royal couple posing with government officials. But the other was able to immediately catch the attention of the fans. It was the picture of the two walking in the rain. Royal fans were quick to notice an eerie similarity with the viral Markle and Prince Harry picture. However, according to a Twitter user, the older photo is way better. The user wrote,
“Not as good as that iconic photograph of Harry and Meghan in the rain. Photo belongs in the National Gallery.”
Although comparisons are being drawn between the two pictures. And some have even claimed that it is an attempt to recreate the iconic picture. However, the similarity could be just a coincidence for all that is known.
Prince William and Kate Middleton Visit Boston
As the Earthshot Prize ceremony is approaching, Prince William and Kate Middleton are also gearing up for the ceremony. Earthshot is a Prize ceremony to discover and accelerate solutions for the environmental crisis that the world is facing.
The royal couple was seen visiting the venue of the ceremony which is the MGM music hall in Boston city, Massachusetts. They were welcomed by Mayor Michelle Wu and Maura Healy (Governor-elect). Following their visit pictures of the couple got uploaded. It was captioned as,
“Boston, what a welcome! Looking forward to our time in the city, meeting inspiring communities and showcasing our 15 fantastic #EarthshotBoston2022 finalists to the world.”
The Prize ceremony will take place on the 2nd of December. And it will air on the fourth of December at 5:00 pm GMT on BBC. It will also be available for streaming on Youtube the next day via BBC’s youtube channel.
