Stand-up comedian Katt Williams reveals the reason for him being an adoptive father

Upon his appearance on Club Shay Shay, stand-up comedian Katt Williams was asked about his children, and he revealed that he has adopted seven kids. Williams mentioned he has five daughters and five sons, sharing one biological son, Micah, with his ex-wife, Quadirah Locus.

Shannon Sharpe told the comedian that for a busy man like him, who travels a lot and spends a lot of time on the road, he has a lot of kids to take care of, but everything comes so naturally to him.

The comedian agreed and said,

Right, but if there was a God, what would he think about you if you did that? Let’s say, for example, that God is real, and let’s say he is looking at what you do. What would he say if you did that?

Williams further noted that his whole life he has been asked what he wanted to be, and he replied by saying that he wanted to be God’s friend. He mentioned that someone who believes in God will understand when he tells them that he wants to be God’s friend.

During the conversation, Katt Williams shared with Shannon Sharpe that he didn’t want his kids to grow up with the same strict childhood that he grew up in. He added that when one is raising kids, the individuals just try to give them a better manual and an outline of how life works compared to what they were told by their respective parents. He continued,

I didn’t do well by leading by example, but behind the scenes, that’s never what I was pushing. They understood that because of my stance, a certain thing would come my way.

Williams also mentioned that accountability and responsibility are also a part of what one is teaching their kids. He shared that one might be doing the greatest thing in the world, but there is no such thing as ‘no good deed goes unpunished.’

The comedian adopted the kids to shield them from the foster care system and calls his kids his ‘richest flex’.

Katt Williams recalled an incident with now-disgraced producer Harvey Weinstein

It’s pretty much an unsaid thing that Katt Williams is bound to make headlines whenever he sits down for an interview. His recent appearance on Theo Von’s podcast interview was no exception, with the stand-up comedian recalling an incident involving now-disgraced producer Harvey Weinstein.

Williams was asked if he ever had to ‘compromise’ himself in the industry, to which he recalled and shared,

I was as shocked as anybody about how powerful Harvey Weinstein was at the time that I was meeting with him and how he could not be told no, that he gets whatever he wants. And I thought that didn’t apply to me because I didn’t care about anything… And then he offered me two actresses like they were playing cards. I was like, What?

The iconic comedian also touched upon his passion for comedy and how some comedians tend to share a message via their set. He was asked if he had noticed the shift in tone of doing a set, to which Williams said,

I don’t think so. I always try to have a message because I enjoy the fact that while laughing and joking, you might learn something you didn’t know you had gotten from a comedian, and I kinda dig that.

Lastly, the stand-up comedian noted that he believes in Heaven, but he truly believes that it’s a place where white people are in the minority.

Elsewhere in the conversation, Katt Williams mentioned that Black people would be honored to have him reincarnated as a Black man.
