Katy Perry Allegedly Has Selfish Intentions Behind Her New Relationship With Taylor Swift After Their Past Fallout

Apart from being the American Idol judge, Katy Perry has had a successful music career with hits like Unconditional, Roar, and E.T. The singer’s career may be fading into obscurity since she is focusing on raising her daughter and taking care of her family. Perry is still performing shows and booking tours, but her stardom is not as bright as it used to be. Despite the Bad Blood that soured the relationship between Katy Perry and Taylor Swift, things seem to be back now. After Perry extended an olive branch for peace in 2018, Swift reportedly accepted and even featured the singer in the music video of You Need To Calm Down. Swift, being a generous and loving person, decided to forget the fight and embrace peace and friendship. The Cruel Summer singer even gifted a sweet blanket to Perry when her daughter was born.

However, a new report has come to light that states Perry is riding the Swiftie bandwagon to revive her dying career. Being in the same headline as Swift will mean a lot for a singer who desperately needs a jolt of energy to pump her career back to life. Moreover, Perry seems to be planning an exit from the reality show American Idol and getting back to touring and doing concerts while releasing new albums.

It’s not news to anyone across the globe that Taylor Swift is a megacelebrity. Being one of the top musicians in the world, she makes headlines with her every action. Getting linked to Swift in some sort would do wonders for Perry’s image in the media. This also raises the question of whether Perry truly wants to be friends with her contemporary or is just riding her coattails to get some of the remnant spotlight that shines on Swift.

“Katy needs some positivity right now and publicly palling around with Taylor is an instant shot of adrenaline for her image,” an industry source stated in the National Enquirer. Perry was seen at Swift’s Eras Tour in Sydney which has been one of the top-selling performances in years. The Roar singer was dancing and singing along as Swift performed her top tracks.

What Happened Between Katy Perry and Taylor Swift?

Swift accused Perry of poaching some of her backup dancers just before Swift had a major performance. She always remained aloof about her relationship with Perry since the latter used underhanded means to stay connected and then vanish without a trace. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Swift expressed,

“And it wasn’t even about a guy! It had to do with business. She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me. And I’m surprisingly non-confrontational—you would not believe how much I hate conflict. So, now I have to avoid her. It’s awkward, and I don’t like it.”

Swift wrote the song Bad Blood reportedly about Perry and how the singers’ feud affected their individual careers. After a few years of public comments and a visible vendetta, the two reconciled and have since been on good terms.
