Katy Perry is regarded as one of the most beloved music artists of all time and is recognized for her influence on pop music. Perry’s camp style has dubbed her the Queen of Camp, and she is known as one of the wealthiest musicians in the world. The singer-songwriter-television personality served as a judge on American Idol from season 16th to 22nd and has made a significant mark on the hearts of the people.
Perry describes her upcoming album 143 as a super-high-energy record, and the title is her symbolic angel number. She released the lead single of the album Woman’s World in July, which unfortunately did not receive the response she thought it would receive. However, she is excited for her fans to listen to the entire album when it releases on September 20, 2024. The artist has been the subject of recent gossip in the town, including her collaboration with Dr. Luke for her album, and her appearance.
Katy Perry clarifies her take on plastic surgery
Back in 2018, during an interview with Refinery 29, Katy Perry addressed the tabloids’ gossip that circled her changed appearance and stated that she’s had a lot of plastic surgery. She stated
I haven’t had any. I’ve done lasers and got filler injections under my eyes for the hollowing—which I’d recommend for everyone who wants a solution for their dark circles—but all of my assets are real. People tend to think they are fake, but it doesn’t really matter.
The artist, however, added that the world is moving away from the negative stigma about physical alterations. She noted that she’d recommend everyone to be their authentic self, but if someone feels like they’ll feel good after getting a nose job, they should go ahead and do it. Katy Perry mentioned that individuals should do what makes them feel best about themselves.
In the same interview, the artist also addressed the damaging effects of social media and mentioned that she cannot wait for the time when all of this is over. Katy Perry explained that a lot of people are living for that picture and then the currency that likes is called ‘like’.
I think it’s actually the decline of civilization if we’re going extreme about it. We have to find a balance, and I am trying to find my own personal balance with it because I’m just as much of a victim as everyone else.
In a recent interview with Life & Style, she noted that she loves how fit she is nowadays. She credits her fiancé for her current appearance by stating that his pushing himself to get into shape motivated Katy Perry to do the same. Orlando Bloom overlooked her workouts, and because she is very competitive with him, she was able to get into shape.
Katy Perry addressed collaborating with Dr. Luke on Call Her Daddy
The singer is going to appear on Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast where Katy Perry has finally addressed the controversial collaboration with Dr. Luke for her upcoming album, 143.
Dr. Luke was accused of drugging and s**ually abusing fellow pop star Kesha in 2014. The lawsuit was settled last year, but fans were outraged to know that the singer has collaborated with him on her new album. She said,
I understand that it started a lot of conversations, and he was one of many collaborators that I collaborated with. But the reality is, it comes from me. The truth is, I wrote these songs from my experience of my whole life going through this metamorphosis, and he was one of the people to help facilitate all that. One of the writers, one of the producers. I am speaking from my own experience.
The singer added that when she speaks about Woman’s World, she speaks about the feeling of being empowered as a mother, woman, giving birth, creating life, creating another set of organs—a brain, a heart. Perry mentioned that she is still a matriarch and feels grounded in that. She noted that she has created her album with several different collaborators from the past, from the Teenage Dream era.
The involvement of Dr. Luke has resulted in her streaming for her songs including lead single Woman’s World were relatively low and receiving negative reviews. However, she is positive that her fans will like the album and understand where all of her emotions come from.
143 will be out on September 20, 2024.
