“Kim K is retiring”: $1.4B Rich Kim Kardashian Wants To Be A Lawyer, Claims Only She Has The Talent Needed To ‘Change the System’
Although Kim Kardashian has dominated reality TV and amassed billions of dollars, as a result of her business ventures, she recently confessed to foregoing fame for the sake of the law. In the process of gaining fame, she also accumulated a staggering amount of wealth. She is at the pinnacle of her career, has a net worth of nearly $1.4 billion, and is in great financial shape.
The mother of four has always been surrounded by a star-studded family, but none of them has achieved her level of success. She rose to fame, thanks in large part to the popular reality TV series, Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
However, it seems, now she wants to leave this world of fame and cameras.
Yes, you heard it right.
Kardashian admitted that she’s thinking about pursuing a full-time legal career instead of a career in reality television. But why?
Kim Kardashian Hinted At A Shift In Career
A successful businesswoman, media personality, socialite, and mother of four, Kim Kardashian—who has 353 million Instagram followers (as of this writing)—has always been the talk of the town.
On April 25, 2023, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star took the stage at the esteemed ‘TIME 100 Summit’ and spoke with CNN anchor, Poppy Harlow.
Kim K gave apparent hints about her potential retirement plans during the interview. She discussed her plans to open her own firm and “be an attorney” after retiring, with a particular emphasis on prison reform. To quote her:
“I always joke with my mom and with my manager, I say ‘Kim K is retiring and I’m just going to be an attorney so you can go help my siblings,’…I’d be just as happy doing that, cameras [or] no cameras.”
Kardashian has expanded her empire ever since she began her television career. She often uses her over 350 million-strong following on social media to promote and advocate for important causes, such as criminal justice reform.
According to Harper’s Bazaar, Kanye West’s ex-wife was successful in securing Alice Marie Johnson’s release from prison in 2018.
She Has The Talent Needed To ‘Change the System’
At the TIME 100 Summit, during an interview with CNN’s Poppy Harlow, Kim Kardashian discussed her passion for criminal justice reform and the reasons she wants to be a fervent supporter of it.
“Once I saw that I was able to make a difference, I couldn’t stop there and I realized there were so many other people to help,…[With] Alice [ Marie Johnson] I felt like it was a fairly easy experience for me when I know it shouldn’t be to help get someone out. It takes 10 to 20 years to do what I did in six months.”
Kim Kardashian is giving a law career serious consideration. The business tycoon and influencer already passed the state of California’s preliminary bar examination. The examination is referred to as the ‘First-Year Law Students Examination’.
Jessica Jackson and Erin Harley, both human rights attorneys, are taking her under their wing and guiding her through the process. Kardashian made it clear that she would be willing to ‘change the system’ entirely for a good cause.
She also successfully manages a number of businesses, including SKKY Partners, a private equity firm, the SKKN skincare line, and SKIMS Shapewear. SKIMS was recognized as one of TIME’s 2022 Most Influential Companies.
