The Tragic Death Of Kim Kardashian Lookalike Christina Ashten Gourkani
The untimely death of a popular social media influencer who bore a striking resemblance to Kim Kardashian has swayed the internet community. Gourkani passed away last Thursday, April 20th, from cardiac arrest while recovering from a plastic surgery procedure.
The 34-year-old California-based model had a significant following of 618,000 followers on Instagram, where she frequently posted her glamorous model pictures.
In response to the tragic event, Gourkani’s family started a GoFundMe page to cover the costs of the funeral and medical expenses. Her family shared on the GoFundMe page,
“It is with deep sorrow and a [immensely] heavy broken heart that we have to share the most shattering, unfortunate, and unexpected passing of our beautiful beloved daughter and sister Christina Ashten Gourkani.”
They also claimed that Gourkani’s sudden and tragic death is being investigated and explained.
“Her sudden and tragic passing is currently being investigated as a homicide related to a medical procedure that took a turn for the worse. For the privacy of Christina Ashten, our family, and the investigation no other details will be shared at this time.”
Fellow OnlyFans model Mary Magdalene also shows condolence for Gourkani’s passing on her Instagram Story, disclosing her fears of undergoing risky procedures.
“I don’t know her, [but] I would always just randomly see her on Instagram and think she was really pretty but that is so sad she just died from plastic surgery. It is so scary because you just never know when you’re going to die from [risky surgery].”
Further, the model family described her as a loving, free spirit that always brightened up the lives of those around her.
“A caring and loving free spirit that always took the time to bring a smile to anyone’s face she crossed paths with. Ashten’s spirit is a light that will forever carry on to her loved ones around her and those that she has left behind.”
However, her obsession to follow Kardashian’s looks has risked her death.
Kim Kardashian Herself Has Set An Unattainable Beauty Standard
Kim Kardashian, a well-known name in the beauty and fashion industry, has been idolized by millions of women worldwide for her iconic looks.
While many people, including the 42-year-old desire cosmetic surgery for a variety of reasons, she has been open about her views on plastic surgery throughout the years.
In a 2010 interview with ABC News, she admitted to trying Botox saying, “I’m not against cosmetic surgery. I’ve previously tried Botox. That’s the only thing that I’ve done,” but denied having any other plastic surgery procedures done.
However, she has since undergone various treatments, including laser cosmetic procedures for her body and face, and having her belly button tightened and stretch marks removed after giving birth to her children.
While a businesswoman has faced criticism for promoting unattainable beauty standards, she does not believe that is the case. She believes that her beauty standard is achievable, stating, “If I’m doing it, it’s attainable,” and that different people have various standards to follow. She explained.
“There are so many different beauty standards — whether it’s Gwen Stefani, Jennifer Lopez, Marilyn Monroe.”
As a teenager, the model found beauty in everything and believed in being herself rather than mimicking what she saw on TV or in magazines. She revealed.
“When I was a teenager, [the look] was just blonde waifs, and then I saw Salma Hayek, who was so beautiful and had darker hair and darker skin and more curves. And she looked more like me. My mentality was never like, you see them on TV or in magazines and pick who you want to be. It was always: Be yourself, find beauty in everything.”
Despite criticism, Kardashian remains a significant influence in the beauty industry, inspiring many to follow her example.
