While the majesty’s sons are battling with each other, and Prince Harry declared, his children will be using the Royal titles of Prince and Princess, King Charles III continues to perform his duties ardently. As per reports gathered by British Press and outlets, Prince Edward will now be considered the Duke of Edinburgh, while his son, Viscount Severn becomes the Earl of Wessex. Buckingham palace has officially announced the news to the common people.
Prince Edward Becomes The Duke Of Edinburgh
On the occasion of Prince Edward’s 59th birthday, King Charles III conferred him the royal title of Duke of Edinburgh, and the responsibilities associated. Honoring the wishes of their parents, both sons diligently fulfilled their obligations. Prince Edward was previously promised his father’s title a couple of decades back, on his wedding day in 1999. Finally, the day has come as stated by Queen Elizabeth II, while handing him the title of Earl of Wessex.
As per the Royal statement issued by the palace, “His Majesty the King has been pleased to confer the Dukedom of Edinburgh upon Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex and Forfar, on the occasion of His Royal Highness’s 59th birthday.” Further, mentioning the lifetime responsibility associated with the title, the statement read, “The title will be held by Prince Edward for His Royal Highness’s lifetime.”
Further, the statement read about the history of the title, mentioning how it belonged to Prince Philip, and after his demise, it went to his eldest son, King Charles. Now that King Charles III is the majesty, the title is therefore being conferred to Prince Edward. Issuing a statement from Prince Edward and his wife, the Royal notice read, “The new Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh are proud to continue Prince Philip’s legacy of promoting opportunities for young people of all backgrounds to reach their full potential.”
With the royal title comes the royal responsibility which is to be served by Prince Edward and his wife. Thus as per rule, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh are to attend the reception marking the first year of conflict in Ukraine.
