Taylor Sheridan who goes on to appeal to the audience of Yellowstone due to its masculine bravado describes Landman as another Western drama. The series has received a positive response from the critics as well as the audience and the cast is ready to head back to the sets if given a chance. Recent numbers have shown that Landman has received an impressive viewership.
Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone season finale did not affect Landman’s viewership
According to reports by Deadline, Taylor Sheridan and Christain Wallace’s Landman, which stars Billy Bob Thornton alongside Demi Moore, Ali Larter, and more, has received an impressive viewership. The show premiered on November 17, 2024, on Paramount+ with it recording nearly 10 billion minutes viewed.
The viewership figure shows that Landman is not only a successful show but also something very interesting that the audience would like to continue to watch. It also shows that the ending of Yellowstone did not affect Landman’s viewership.
It was reported that fans of Yellowstone were not that happy and satisfied with how the story ended, especially after Kevin Costner decided to exit from the show. But Landman’s popularity at the time hinted that maybe Billy Bob Thornton was coming for Costner’s crown.
But it’s a relief for Sheridan and Wallace, who have worked hard on Landman and are hoping for it to be renewed for Season 2. In an interview with Country Living, Wallace shared about the response to the show,

In an interview with Collider, the creator, Taylor Sheridan, shared that Landman is based on true events, adding that a lot of it is very accurate, and some of it they had to squeeze in together to make sense for the characters.
Billy Bob Thornton talks about the Landman season 1 finale
In an interview with THR, actor Billy Bob Thornton was asked what he enjoyed the most while filming, to which he said that he loved being around the cast and crew of the show. He added that they were all top-notch and gave their 100% every day. He mentioned,
The actor noted that they had no idea that the show was going to be a massive success, which he said was a wonderful experience for him. Upon asking about season two, Thornton said they are not aware if there is going to be one, but they are very hopeful.
Christian Wallace, according to TV Line, commented that Demi Moore’s character on the show is definitely a force to be reckoned with, and noted that the audience didn’t really get any chance to see her on-screen.
The co-creator added that to see the characters’ power and influence, it would be very interesting for her to return. He added that if Landman is renewed for Season 2, Demi Moore’s character won’t be the only women character entering the male-dominated space.
