Leonardo DiCaprio is well-known for his diverse roles, and the actor has done a wide variety of films throughout his film career. Yet there are three of his films that he feels are tied with a common thread and theme of corruption. He sees them as an unofficial trilogy, as all three great films of his acting career uncover a similar theme.
His film, Django Unchained explicitly represents the American slave trade and the corruption that persisted back then. Similar is the case with his other two well-recognized films, The Wolf of The Wall Street, and The Great Gatsby.

Leonardo DiCaprio Calls Three of His Greatest Films As a Trilogy Of Corruption In America
One of the most-renowned actors of Hollywood, the boy who shot to fame with the Titanic film, Leonardo DiCaprio has played multiple corrupt characters over the years. Like in 2012, DiCaprio took on an intense role in Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained, and proved that a classic tux never goes out of style. In one of his past interviews with the Studio 360, DiCaprio commented on his roles, particularly in Django Unchained, The Wolf of Wall Street and The Great Gatsby.
The actor has become something of an expert in playing rapacious, villainous types. He describes the three films as “With the Great Gatsby, and Django and this film, it was like a trilogy of corruption in America through different time periods,” He added, “I think Marty’s films have always been about the pursuit of the American Dream, in a lot of ways, the corruption of that dream, and the hustle it takes to get there.” DiCaprio accepts that the films with tortured characters had the deepest impact in his life.

Leonardo DiCaprio will be next seen in Killers of the Flower Moon set to be released on October 20, this year. It seems that DiCaprio was destined to become an entertainer.
