The Matrix had been a storm of renewal for the movie industry at the time of its release. It proved to be a turning point for modern cinema with its dynamic use of cameras and computer graphics. Needless to say, the movie crashed the box office, launched its actors into the mainstream, and was a global hit. An ambitious and high-risk project on its inception, it did exceedingly well for its directors, the Wachowskis’ second project. But it didn’t start as smoothly as Neo’s action moves.
