Leonardo DiCaprio’s Saucy Attitude Toward His Mother
Leonardo DiCaprio has often regarded his mother as his greatest love who exposed the actor to art and film from a very young age which is one of the reasons for the mega star’s triumphant success in the world of entertainment. Years back when Leonardo DiCaprio appeared on Oprah Winfrey’s show for an interview along with his mother, the host asked the Titanic star’s mother Irmelin Indenbirken why she named him Leonardo DiCaprio, to which Indenbirken replied:
“I was inspired by the name of Leonardo da Vinci when I saw when I visited Italy and I thought it sounded very smooth.”
Hearing DiCaprio’s mother’s response Oprah Winfrey asked if the Inception star got into trouble growing up, to which Indenbirken lightheartedly replied: ” he was great”. This was the moment when Leonardo DiCaprio’s sassy attitude stole all the attention as he humorously agreed with his mom with a thumbs up.
Leonardo DiCaprio Said Kate Winslet Was the Best Kisser
Ask a Titanic movie fan and they will tell you how everyone was obsessed with the on-screen chemistry of Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet after the actors were recognized as megastars overnight through James Cameron’s work. DiCaprio and Winslet were cast as Jack Dawson, a young and exceptional artist, and Rose DeWitt, a beautiful first-class passenger who eventually falls for DiCaprio’s character.
During the same interview with Oprah Winfrey, when a fan questioned The Wolf of Wall Street star about his favorite leading lady kiss, responding to the fan’s query, DiCaprio said:
“Oh boy. There’s going to be some mad actresses … I’m just going to go with Kate Winslet, good old classic.”
Oprah Winfrey then presented a clip during the interview that showed Kate Winslet talking about working with Leonardo DiCaprio in 1998 and said:
“I was like probably how all the women in this audience are, about Leonardo DiCaprio. Initially, I thought, ‘Ugh, how am I gonna work with this beautiful man who’s such a brilliant actor?’ And I met him and he’s honestly so lovely and down-to-earth and normal and so good at what he does.”
DiCaprio cheerfully lauded Winslet and said: “That’s my girl”. and continued reflecting on his thoughts about working with the Labor Day star:
“I feel the same way about her. If it wasn’t for her making that film, we would have been shrapnel at this point. It was just the toughest film we ever had to make and we were partners together.”
The actor continued to talk about the filming of Titanic and recalled the difficult scenes for the actors involved. Titanic became James Cameron’s biggest hit of all time until he crafted Avatar. The A-lister is all set to excite fans again with his upcoming film Killers of the Flower Moon directed by Martin Scorsese.
