“Lindsay was very hurt and disappointed”: Lindsay Lohan Didn’t Like Megan Thee Stallion’s Fire Crotch Joke During Mean Girls Premiere
Lindsay Lohan recently made a surprise cameo in the new Mean Girls movie, reprising her iconic role as Cady Heron from the 2004 original film. However, Lohan was reportedly left upset by a joke made at her expense in the new movie. The 2024 Mean Girls film, which hit number one at the box office last weekend, contains a line that appears to be a reference to the infamous 2006 rant about Lohan by Brandon Davis.
How Exactly Did the Joke Reference Lindsay Lohan?
As Lindsay Lohan walked the red carpet at the premiere just last week, she was said to be thrilled to reunite with the cast. But one joke didn’t sit right with the star, who felt “hurt and disappointed,” according to her rep.
As per Business Insider, back in 2006, Brandon Davis was caught on tape making derogatory comments about Lohan to paparazzi while out in Los Angeles with Paris Hilton. Including using the term “fire crotch” to describe the red-headed actress. Davis later apologized for the vulgar remarks.
But the new Mean Girls movie seems to make light of the situation with a joke from rapper Megan Thee Stallion, who has a cameo in the film. During one of her scenes, the rapper reportedly proclaims that “Y2K fire crotch is back.”
The line appears to directly reference the offensive “fire crotch” nickname given to the Parent Trap actress by Davis 16 years ago. While Megan’s joke seemed harmless to most viewers, it understandably struck a nerve with Lohan.
Angourie Rice plays the role of Cady Heron in the new adaptation. So, the joke was indirectly aimed at Lohan by targeting her character’s iconic outfit. Lohan’s rep confirmed to People Magazine that the joke felt hurtful, saying:
“Lindsay was very hurt and disappointed by the reference in the film.”
Will This Cause Drama Between Lindsay Lohan and the Mean Girls Cast?
While the fiery joke upset Lohan, there likely won’t be any public drama or ongoing beef with the Mean Girls cast.
The actress was thrilled to reunite with the cast on the red carpet last week, posing happily with Tim Meadows and Tina Fey. Fey, who wrote both the original and 2024 films, was intent on getting Lohan back for a cameo.
“I felt like if I could only get one person as a surprise, the original movie is really Lindsay’s movie,” Fey told Entertainment Weekly. “As great as they all are, she’s the heart of that movie.”
So it seems this was an isolated joke that rubbed Lohan the wrong way, rather than any intentional dig from Fey or the cast. The stars all still have love and appreciation for each other.
While Lohan may have been offended by the rapper’s line, she still gave fans the gift of her fun cameo appearance. And the Mean Girls legacy lives on thanks to yet another hit installment.
