“Loser has to change their last name”: Is It Finally Happening? Jake Paul Teases Facing Logan Paul Instead of Mike Tyson as He Battles Serious Health Condition
The buzz around the upcoming boxing match between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul was electric. Here we had a clash of titans: Tyson, known for his knockouts in the 90s, versus Paul, a young social media personality with a massive following who’s made a name for himself in the boxing ring.
However, boxing fans looking forward to the fight between the legendary heavyweight and YouTuber-turned-boxer will have to wait a bit longer. The much-talked-about exhibition match, originally planned for July 20th, has been postponed. The reason? Mike Tyson himself! According to reports, Kid Dynamite recently had a health scare that requires him to take a break from training.
Mike Tyson’s Ulcer Flare-Up Delays the Rumble
According to a joint statement by Netflix and Jake Paul‘s promotion company, Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), a recent health issue for Mike Tyson forced the delay. Doctors advised Iron Mike to reduce his training intensity due to an ulcer flare-up.
While Tyson is confident of a quick recovery, both fighters believe a fair fight requires them to be at their peak physical condition. This means allowing the 57-year-old the time he needs to fully heal before stepping back into the ring. The part of the statement reads (as reported by CNN):
Unfortunately, due to my ulcer flare-up, I have been advised by my doctor to lighten my training for a few weeks to rest and recover. My body is in better overall shape than it has been since the 1990s and I will be back to my full training schedule soon. Jake Paul, this may have bought you some time, but in the end you will still be knocked out and out of boxing for good.
However, there’s good news! The fight is still expected to take place later this year at AT&T Stadium, with a new date to be announced by June 7th. All previously purchased tickets will be honored for the rescheduled event.
Logan Paul Throws His Hat in the Ring
While fans grapple with the delay, an unexpected twist came out of nowhere on social media. Following the news of Tyson’s setback, Jake Paul’s brother, Logan Paul, took to Twitter, offering himself as a last-minute replacement.
“So Mike Tyson’s out? I’ll step in and we can settle this once and for all @jakepaul,” jokingly (or maybe not so jokingly) tweeted The Maverick, a social media personality and occasional boxer himself.
Never one to back down from a challenge, the younger Paul brother responded with a playful jab: “Mom doesn’t want me to KO you but fuck it. Loser has to change their last name #PaulVsPaul.”

The saga of Tyson vs. Paul continues! While fans wait for the rescheduled match, Logan’s call adds to the already hyped fight. While both Paul brothers are famous YouTubers, their boxing journeys are quite different. The Problem Child has built a name for himself by facing celebrities in the ring. So far, he’s undefeated with a perfect 5-0 record.
Maverick Apparel’s founder, on the other hand, has stepped into the ring with tougher competition. He even battled fellow YouTuber KSI in a match that ended in a draw with some controversy.
