Just days before the premiere of X-Men ’97 on Disney+, showrunner Beau DeMayo was unexpectedly let go by Marvel. According to The Hollywood Reporter, he had already finished writing for the show’s second season and was brainstorming ideas for a potential third season with the team.

Brad Winderbaum told Entertainment Weekly that the development for the third season of X-Men ’97 is slated to commence “very soon.” However, they’ll need to find a new showrunner to lead the charge. While the exact release date for Season 2 remains under wraps, Marvel is working on the story and animation.
