Eagle-eyed fans of X-Men ’97 have spotted a touching tribute hidden within the season finale titled Tolerance Is Extinction – Part 3‘s mind-bending scene focused on Magneto. The first name, ‘Erik Lehnsherr,’ is Magneto’s birth name from the comics, but the real surprise comes next.

Following ‘Erik Lehnsherr’ is the name ‘David Hemblem.’ It’s a heartfelt homage to the late David Hemblen, the voice actor who gave life to Magneto in the iconic X-Men: The Animated Series (1992). Hemblen’s performance is considered a classic by many fans, and this subtle nod shows his legacy still lives on in the X-Men universe. After Hemblen’s name, viewers can spot a peek at two more names: ‘Ian’ and ‘Michael.’
