Mark Hamill who’s a renowned figure in voicing the Joker in Batman: The Animated Series doesn’t seem to be willing to take on the job again after his co-star Kevin Conroy’s demise in last year’s November.

Fans’ beloved Joker, Mark Hamill says without Kevin Conoy who voiced the caped crusader in the animated series for years, it’s barely possible for him to return as Joker. Both artists are lauded by fans for lending their iconic voices in one of the most successful series. Hamill told fans that he won’t be returning to voice his iconic role.

Ask Batman: The Animated Series fans, and they will define how incredibly Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy captivated them by lending their voices to the iconic characters. However, in November 2022, Conoy passed away due to cancer at the age of 66. After his demise, Hamill recently made an appearance at Fan Expo San Francisco and revealed to fans that he won’t be returning to voice the clown prince of crime. The actor said:

“Without Batman, crime has no punchline.”

He expressed that after his long partner passed away, he lost the desire to work again in the animated series. After this news broke fans on X (earlier Twitter) acknowledged Mark Hamill’s voice as Joker who kept them engaged for years:

Kevin Conroy was an extraordinarily lauded figure who has left a remarkable mark in fans’ hearts and is still remembered for voicing the caped crusader of Gotham.

Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy had a notable chemistry when the actors used to voice against their iconic roles. Conroy has worked on numerous projects including Batman BeyondJustice League, and Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, and his last contribution to the entertainment industry was in 2019’s Justice League vs. the Fatal Five. The actor’s demise broke his fans’ hearts and even Hamill’s who said his long-time partner was perfection ( via CBR)

“Kevin was perfection. He was one of my favorite people on the planet, and I loved him like a brother. He truly cared for the people around him – his decency shone through everything he did. Every time I saw him or spoke with him, my spirits were elevated.”

Hamill once revealed that he used to ask if Conroy was involved in the project before agreeing to it (via Wikipedia) “When they offer me roles now, I say, ‘Is Kevin doing it?’ … I don’t even have to read the script, if Kevin’s doing it I’ll do it.” Numerous notable stars paid tribute to Kevin Conroy after his passing and acknowledged his contribution to the superhero world.
