Mark Wahlberg “Wanted to put my hard-earned dollars” into a Brand That Went Completely Against His Fitness Icon Brand
The Marky Mark of Hollywood as the entire world knows him, Mark Wahlberg has been entertaining us for the past three decades. The Uncharted actor is a self-proclaimed fitness freak. He is a strong believer in the saying a healthy mind can only reside in a healthy body.
During an interview with a reputed media outlet, the Transformers actor spoke about entering an ownership stake with the famous tequila brand owners, his love for his fitness, and what his cheat meal looks like.
Mark Wahlberg On Investing His Hard Earned Money In A Tequila Brand
During an interview with the famous media outlet GQ, the actor Mark Wahlberg spoke about his association with the tequila brand Flecha Azul and what drew him towards taking an ownership stake in the brand. On being asked how he ended up meeting the founder of Flecha Azul, Aron Marquez, and Abraham Ancer, the actor said-
“Well, people wanted a celebrity to be involved, and I didn’t want to get involved in the spirits space until I realized what they created and more importantly, who created it. I was really really impressed with Aron and Abe’s stories and what they did to overcome the obstacles that they faced. You know, I thought I had it difficult and then I realized, well, my life was pretty darn easy considering what they had to overcome.”
While talking about the strong connection he felt towards the tequila brand, he said-
“But it took time for us to really bond and connect and realize we had so much in common. I loved what they’d created, especially when it came to the tequila space being so hot when it came to celebrity brands. I thought, you know what, let’s kind of turn this upside down and give credit where credit is due and give them the recognition that they deserve.”
He admitted that he was looking forward to investing his hard-earned money into the tequila brand. He mentioned-
“I wanted to put my hard-earned dollars into what they created and go out there and be a megaphone for them. I just feel like we have a huge advantage because we have a superior product and it’s authentic and it’s real, and as this category has risen, customers want to know that. “
After meeting the tequila brand owners Aron Marquez, and Abraham Ancer in 2019, the actor was greatly influenced by the core values of the adult beverage brand. Despite being a popular fitness icon in Hollywood, the actor went on to invest in the two-year-old Tequila brand.
Mark Wahlberg On His Diet Philosophy And His Cheat Meal
While talking about his love for fitness during an interview with the media outlet GQ, Mark Wahlberg was asked about his diet philosophy. The actor mentioned-
“I mean, it depends. I’ll kinda splurge here and there, but it’s frustrating because later on in life I figure I found the secret to being able to eat more—or indulge more often—if I was intermittent fasting. So finding out about fasting when I was 50 years old was a little bit frustrating! I would eat a lot of small meals—buying into different philosophies at different times. But I feel like the fasting thing works the best.”
He further added about intermittent fasting-
“Normally with intermittent fasting, I eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I’ll eat at noon, 3 p.m., and 6 p.m. for an eighteen-hour fast and a six-hour eating window. Usually eggs, protein pancakes, smoked salmon, a couple of pork chops, a couple of sausage links, and protein with some almond butter for breakfast. I usually have chicken and bok choy for lunch, and then steak and fish for dinner with some sort of vegetable.”
Mark Wahlberg even enjoys his cheat meal which mainly includes chocolate and cookies. He is one of the most disciplined actors in Hollywood and his love for maintaining himself speaks volumes about it.
