On one hand, where Casalegno’s wedding is causing headlines, Marvel fans are seemingly interested in a subtle detail that happened after the wedding. As MCU is now looking to wrap up the multiversal saga, it will be looking for new faces for the future, and Casalegno might be just that.

Gavin Casalegno started working at an early age. He was four when he got a modeling job for JCPenney and later continued to work on various TV commercials. His breakout role came in The Summer I Turned Pretty, where he played the role of Jeremiah Fisher. The actor has also played some significant roles in other shows like The Vampire Diaries and Walker.

Casalegno recently shared his wedding with his girlfriend Cheyanne King on his Instagram. It was surprising for the fans, as the couple has managed to keep their relationship low-key.

However, what was more surprising for Marvel fans was when they noticed Marvel Studios also liked the Instagram post. Although this gesture might seem small, it was enough for the fans to start speculating about Casalegno’s role in the MCU, and many believe the actor might feature as Tommy Maximoff.

This social media interaction also came at a time when Marvel’s latest show, Agatha All Along, just ended. It introduced Wanda Maximoff’s son, Billy, portrayed by Joe Locke, and his brother Tommy was also teased for a return as the show ended.

The finale showed Agatha Harkness’ ghost and Billy going to search for Tommy, which hints that the next installment in the series may introduce him properly. Fans have also noticed the resemblance between Locke and Casalegno, which makes them suitable to portray on-screen brothers.

The way MCU is going with the story of Tommy Maximoff provides an interesting opportunity for Casalegno to take on the role. In Agatha All Along, it was seen that Billy’s soul was able to enter a body after he was released from the Westview Hex. But Tommy was still there without any physical form that Billy could feel.

In Marvel comics, Tommy Shepherd had a rough childhood, which turned him into a rebellious teenager. MCU is also following a similar origin story for Tommy Maximoff. When Billy tries to search for a body for Tommy with Harkness’ help, he mentions that Tommy’s new body comes from a difficult home life and faces bullying.

MCU is already introducing young heroes gradually throughout the multiverse, which seems like a buildup for Young Avengers. Tommy Maximoff’s Speed can be a valuable addition to the already established young heroes like Kamala Khan, Kate Bishop, Laura and America Chavez.

Marvel’s track record for unusual but effective casting is well-known among fans. Gavin Casalegno might become another addition to that record. Apart from being young, which promises long-term commitment, his involvement in supernatural shows like The Vampire Diaries makes him suitable for the fantastical elements of the MCU.

Agatha All Along is now streaming on Disney+.
