Marvel: Kang Is Terrified of Thanos & Avoids Him In EVERY Time Period
In Marvel Comics, Kang is so terrified of Thanos that he has avoided him in every time period. When we think of Marvel villains, we have one too many names that we can put together. Of course, some of them are way too powerful and are literally on a god-like level. Two such villains are Kang the Conqueror and the Mad Titan, Thanos. MCU has witnessed the wrath of Thanos and is currently setting the stage for Kang. Ever since Phase 3 ended, fans have been waiting for a villain that can straight up haunt the MCU just like Thanos did. And many of them think that it’s going to be Kang. But did you know that Kang is so terrified of Thanos that he has avoided him in every time period? Check it out!
Kang Has Avoided Thanos Every Time Because He’s Too Powerful
Thanos: The Infinity Siblings has confirmed Kang’s fear of Thanos. But it has taken it up a notch by making Kang and Thanos meet once and for all. The time-traveling maniac finally decides to meet the wrecking force who once wiped half of life in the universe. The Infinity Siblings, by Jim Starlin and Alan Davis, primarily focuses on the relationship between Thanos and his brother Eros, also known as Starfox. However, it also offers a look at what Thanos could become in the future by replacing the embodiment of Death and gaining immense powers. And guess who witnessed it? Yes, Kang the conqueror.
But one thing is of keen interest here. Even before Kang saw what Thanos could be, he had already told Eros, the less volatile brother that he was never interested in meeting the Mad Titan. Kang said, “I have always made a strict point of avoiding Thanos of Titan. Continuing to do so seems prudent.”
Kang Makes An Offer
By the end of Thanos: The Infinity Siblings, despite his fear, Kang finally decides to meet Thanos. This decision is purely based on his fear and an attempt to securing himself. When he sees Thanos, he makes a deal. He tells Thanos that he will be his advisor, by offering Thanos the rightful insights into the future. This, in turn, would allow him to clam the entire universe as he’s always destined. But the catch is that he will allow Kang to rule his own empire in the distant 42nd century unopposed. But as we know Thanos, was already aware that Kang is on his way to cut him a deal.
What really surprising is that it’s not like Kang is not powerful himself, yet he’s this scared of Thanos. Kang is a time traveler who can go back to the past and rewrite the present. Plus, he can go into the future and see what his necessary course of action should be. But even after possessing these powers, he is too cautious when it comes to Thanos specifically. The reason for that is, Kang has seen enough in his days to know and understand that no matter what he does, Thanos will end up winning with not much difficulty. So, the potential big bad of Marvel’s Phase 4 is scared AF in the comics of Thanos. What do you think about it?
