After the steady and continuous success of the current string of shoes and films of Phase 5, Marvel is gearing up for Phase 6 of the MCU in 2025. First of which this will be the film adaptation of Fantastic Four. As the adventures of Reed Richards and Co. are to be released on the silver screen in early 2025, the groundwork for the film has begun. Helmed by Wanda Vision director and producer Matt Shakman, the movie is currently going through the casting process and in these initial days, rumors fly high.
Sue Storm will be the Lead in Fantastic Four
Sources suggest that in these pre-production stages, it is considered that the movie will be female-led. Instead of adhering to comic books and keeping the story revolving around Mr. Fantastic, it is discussed that it will have the Invisible Woman in the focus of the plot. This seems to be a huge digression from the premise of the novel but it can certainly be an interesting one and hold high on the female representation front.
The casting process, which initially started with looking for Mr. Fantastic, and in conversation with many male actors has now shifted to conversation with female stars as the movie aims to be female-centric. Per reports, the plan is to cast someone for the role of Sue Storm first and do the rest of the characters around that depending on the chemistry of the characters.
Margot Robbie May Play the Invisible Woman
As per reports, Margot Robbie, right after Barbie‘s immense success was approached for the role. She has been part of the DCEU as Harley Quinn.
Rumors have it that Vanessa Kirby and Dakota Johnson are also considered for the role. No statement has been made by Marvel studios but fans are excited to see who will be seen as the Fantastic Four.
The casting rumors for all Fantastic Four characters are ablaze. The likes of Adam Driver, Penn Badgley, and Dev Patel are being considered for the role of Mr. Fantastic. Filmmaker Adam Shakman is heading the project and has actually left Star Trek 4 to be a part of this film.
