Marvel Star Jeremy Renner’s Side Gig Makes Him Filthy Richer Than His Avengers Co-stars
One of the most talented actors in the business, Jeremy Renner, is best known for his role as Clint Barton, a.k.a. Hawkeye, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The actor has also pursued a career outside of acting, which has been successful for him.
The actor has performed songs for various movies. He is also a singer and songwriter, guitarist, drummer, and keyboardist. Jeremy Renner made headlines earlier this year when it was revealed that the actor had been hospitalized following a snowplow accident at his house that left him with 30 shattered bones and chest injuries. However, with intense treatment, the actor is making a full recovery.

Jeremy Renner says flipping houses keeps him grounded
Hawkeye fame actor Jeremy Renner appeared in The Hurt Locker in 2009 which earned him his Academy Award nomination for Best Actor, but before the actor garnered the attention of the public, he along with his business partner and actor Kristoffer Winters were fixing up and flipping old houses in Hollywood.
According to The Wrap, a story came out with the title, Jeremy Renner’s Secret Side Gig which detailed a history of the actor buying, restoring, and reselling the houses, including the Nichols Canyon home which the duo resold for about $1 million, which was more than they had paid for it.
The actor spoke to The Wrap and mentioned that he was flipping houses until he landed a major role in The Town, Mission: Impossible- Ghost Protocol, and The Avengers, noting that he was making way more money by flipping houses compared to what he was earning by acting.
He said,
“It’s a lot of fun. I dig it, it keeps me grounded. You run into the Beverly Hilton to do ‘Extra,’ and then you have a meeting there, and then you go to a red carpet … And between all these things, I’m going to pick out tiles. I go back to this dirty job site in a suit, so that I can tell the electrician where to put light switches. It’s just a little moment of reality.”
The actor revealed that he used his contract for S.W.A.T. to help secure a loan for his first house.

Jeremy Renner recalled brushing his teeth at Starbucks
The actor admitted back in 2009 during an interview that he just kept growing and growing and after 12 houses, he was making more money than he was making while acting in the movies. Renner looks back at his contrasting jobs and describes them as one that makes him known to the public and one that keeps him afloat.
He added during an interview with The Wrap,
“There were all of these humbling experiences because we couldn’t afford to pay rent somewhere else, all our money was sunk into this big house that might have no plumbing while we were working on it. So we’re running over to Starbucks to brush our teeth and use the restroom, or going to shower at the gym.”
Renner continued to share, “And then I’d fly off to France for some movie premiere. My life was a little surreal. On paper you think, great, he’s an up-and-coming actor, flying all over the world and working everywhere.” He laughed while pointing at how they were brushing their teeth at Starbucks.
Renner’s net worth, according to Marca, comes to about $80 million, which is a lot more than his Avengers co-stars, as Paul Rudd is near about $70 million, and Mark Ruffalo at $35 million. They are successful and admired by everyone. Tom Holland’s net worth is near about $25 million. It was reported that in 2013, Renner and Winters sold a house for a whopping price of $24 million. The actor’s signature color palette reportedly consists of white and earth tones and his decor typically includes “masculine brick accents and dark wood flooring.”

Scarlett Johansson recalls visiting Jeremey Renner with Chris Evans
Jeremy Renner’s snowplow accident shook the entire world because no one was ready to see their favorite Avenger falling and the same emotion was shared amongst his co-stars Scarlett Johansson and Chris Evans, who visited the actor in the hospital.
The actress who plays Black Widow in the MCU shared with Variety in May that she is so happy to see him, adding that she didn’t know if she was ever going to see him again. She said,
“To not only see him again but to see him thriving and in such an amazing space, mentally. He’s a very spiritual person in general and a very soulful person. And you can see that in his work. It comes through. He has such a depth to him. And I just was so happy to see that he is full of life and light, and he’s also hilarious. We laughed a lot.”
Chris Evans also shared that during their mini-reunion, there were no tears just a lot of laughter, smiles, and hugs, and pointed out that people can leave it up to Jeremy Renner to take something potentially tragic and turn it into something so inspiring. Jeremy Renner was dubbed as The Real Avenger after he made it through.
