Marvel’s Powerhouse Chris Hemsworth Reportedly Considering Retirement From Acting After Recent Health Scare
After losing one eye just like his father Odin, MCU’s Thor seems likely to freeze his career. Learning about his high risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease with age, Chris Hemsworth has started taking his health seriously. Previously, considering slowing down instead of retiring, the Aussie actor is currently willing to change his schedule and rather retire.
Dropping the bomb on his fans, Chris Hemsworth is reportedly contemplating a hiatus from acting. Ever since the actor faced his recent health scare, he has been reconsidering signing projects. Informing his fans about his vulnerability to Alzheimer’s, the actor is awfully clear about his decision of slowing things down.
Chris Hemsworth Contemplating Hiatus From Hollywood
The 39-year-old Aussie actor, who we all know and love as MCU’s Thor, is now considering focusing on his health. The actor recently dropped bombs on his fans after his Vanity Fair interview, where he spoke publically about his health scare. Ever since then, Hemsworth has been trying to slow down his career rather than considering retirement. However, as per Tinseltown insiders, the actor’s current schedule seemingly points to deliberation over retirement.
With four upcoming projects in hand, Chris Hemsworth looks a bit busy with his schedule. However, sources claim that after the four projects end, “he doesn’t plan to take on many roles because of [learning about his high risk for] Alzheimer’s”. Considering his health and his family’s well-being, Hemsworth is reportedly looking forward to his retirement. Previously assuring his fans that he’s “not talking about retiring by any means” through his Vanity Fair interview, the actor also stated about considering a “curated approach to things”.

Chris Hemsworth’s Vulnerability To Alzheimer’s
Alzheimer’s is the most common ailment visible in elderly people. Being the most prevalent type of dementia, Chris Hemsworth previously mentioned his high chance of developing the disease. Finding out his increased chances of Alzheimer’s for carrying two types of the gene ApoE4, from each of his parents, Hemsworth is constantly worried for his health. Heading towards being more cautious about his health, the actor spoke about his risk of developing the neurodegenerative disease.
“Most of us, we like to avoid speaking about death,” Hemsworth stated. Further mentioning, “eight to ten times likelier to develop Alzheimer’s than the general population”, the actor decided to go slow. After his recent health scare, Hemsworth claimed, it “triggered something in me to want to take some time off”. Detailing his plan, the 39-year-old stated, “I’ve been completing the things I was already contracted to do.”
Considering his vulnerability to Alzheimer’s disease, Chris Hemsworth wished to stay close to his family before he eventually starts forgetting them, and the legacy he has built.
