MCU Could Set Up Adam Warlock As The Most Prominent Villain Post Thanos’ Demise
Thanos’ demise in the MCU will not be a problem for Adam Warlock. The franchise will now lay the foundation for the most prominent villain of the Marvel Universe.
Thanos-Warlock Rivalry
Adam Warlock’s debut with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will help the franchise set up the most prominent villain of the MCU. Played by Will Poulter, Warlock will be a significant part of James Gunn’s trilogy and this is exactly what was teased in the post-credits scenes of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Being one of the iconic and powerful characters of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Warlock’s arrival will raise several intriguing possibilities in the franchise.
As far as Thanos-Adam Warlock rivalry is considered, it is one of the most important segments of Marvel Comics. Some thought Warlock’s absence from Avengers: Endgame and Avengers: Infinity War meant he is not going to come in the MCU. However, Thanos wasn’t the only one Warlock had a rivalry with and the list is perhaps worth exploring on the big screen.
The Universal Church Of Truth
Magus, one of the Adam Warlock villain, is more dangerous than any other villain in the MCU. His supremacy has been reflected on multiple occasions. When Adam and Thanos met for the first time, they sought his supremacy in defeating the Universal Church of Truth. It was Magus who was leading the group, the evil version of Adam Warlock who is corrupted by the dark power of the legendary Soul Stone. After years, Warlock got to know about a new Magus who was a product of Adam using the Infinity Gauntlet. At that point in time, Warlock had purged all evil and good from his brain, unaware of the fact that the latter world might turn different possibilities for him. Thus, Magnus’ history from Marvel Comics makes his arrival in the MCU sound more prospective.
With that said, Warlock’s mere existence in the Marvel Cinematic Universe makes Magus’ debut sound possible in the future. However, Magnus’ arrival will make no difference in the timeline as the Infinity Stones have been removed from the current equation. If that happens, it will not be a matter of concern as there will be multiple ways in which Adam’s evil version could be created. Whenever it happens, Magus could create a Marvel Cinematic Universe interpretation of the Universal Church of Truth and lead the entire scenario against Earth’s mightiest heroes.
As far as Magus’ role in the comics is considered, the real Infinity War crossover echoed that he deserves to be the most dangerous villain of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With that being said, Magus might be a bit early addition if included in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 But since his aura being a villain in the comic world is immense, Magus could anyway establish himself as wreak havoc on the entire Marvel Universe. That is why the villain of such a high magnitude should be included in a major crossover film of Phase 5.
