MCU Killing Off Major Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock Plotpoint in ‘Daredevil: Born Again’
Daredevil: Born Again, an upcoming series developed by Matt Corman and Chris Ord for Disney+ and intended to be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is based on the Marvel Comics character Daredevil created by Stan Lee and Bill Everett.
After the Netflix series based on the character, Daredevil ended in 2018, a second iteration, Daredevil: Born Again, will now follow on Disney+. Along with Vincent D’Onofrio, Jon Bernthal, and Sandrine Holt, actor Charlie Cox plays Matt Murdock/Daredevil in the television series. The show’s premiere was anticipated by viewers all over the world, but a recent rumor regarding the main plotline of the show was upsetting.
Elden Henson no longer returning to play Foggy Nelson on Daredevil: Born Again
According to reports online, actor Charlie Cox, who has reprised his character of Matt Murdock/ Daredevil for Disney+’s Daredevil: Born Again, will no longer be working with Elden Henson, who portrayed Foggy Nelson in the original series Daredevil.
The reports have suggested that the actor Henson will no longer be returning to the franchise to play fan favorite character Foggy Nelson, who was a part of Nelson and Murdock; a law firm founded by the characters Nelson and Murdock. The law firm was later renamed Nelson, Murdock, and Page in the third season of Daredevil after Deborah Ann Woll’s character Karen Page, who is, unfortunately, also not returning to the show.

“Matt Murdock and Kirsten Mcduffie will be working together at his new firm: Murdock & Associates in Daredevil: Born Again. Nelson and Murdock is no more.”
This clarifies that Murdock will work with Mcduffie, who will be played by Nikki James, whose character remains undisclosed as of now.
Charlie Cox starring Daredevil: Born Again villain revealed
According to reports from DanielRPK, the upcoming series’ villain has been revealed, who is none other than Muse, who is described as a mysterious, deranged artist who is primarily anti-Daredevil and Blindspots in the comic book.
The character made its first appearance in Daredevil comics in 2012 and is now looking forward to taking center stage as the main villain of the show, which is said to be divided into two parts. Muse is known to be a sociopathic serial killer with a twisted sense of purpose and he believes that his victims are meaningless until he transforms them into his version of what he calls an ‘art’ using their blood and body parts.
There has been no indication of who is going to play Muse on the show, but a little bit of knowledge about what is yet to come for the fans has delighted them and increased their anticipation level for the show.
Daredevil: Born Again takes a new direction
According to reports online, Daredevil: Born Again is expected to take a new direction compared to the Daredevil series which ended in 2018 and the new angle includes Kristen Mcduffie as not only Matt Murdock’s partner but also, a probable love interest.
Charlie Cox, during an interview with GQ, shared how Daredevil: Born Again is different from Daredevil,
“I think because of the number of episodes they’ve committed to, there’ll be a heavy influence of courtroom stuff — Matt Murdock, the lawyer in the new show. So I’m heavily focused on researching that area of this character and his life. It was one of the areas we didn’t do a huge amount [of] exploration around before.”
It has also been said that various parts of the show are expected to go through the process of retooling for tonal purposes. They further said Murdock’s goofy and comedic vibe was not appreciated by the audience, so now for the upcoming show, the team is reconfiguring things and retooling the story so that it can go back to being dark and broody.
The series is set to premiere on Disney Plus in 2024 and will consist of 18 episodes, released in two parts.
