MCU Star Evangeline Lilly Intentionally Changed Her Hairstyle to Make it More Comic Book Accurate in Marvel’s Lowest Rated Movie
When it comes to any comic book character, the attention to their appearance including the type of outfit and hairdos they keep is a significant step while filming. One such character is Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Wasp/ Hope Van Dyne played by Evangeline Lilly.
Although she kept her hair long for the first two films the latest installment witnessed her sporting a much shorter pixie similar to the original character in the comics. Opening up about it in a February interview, Lilly explained how the hairstyle came to be and how it wasn’t a result of any planning as it appears.
Although the prequel Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, is the lowest-rated movie of all the MCU projects, the wasp’s hairdos have been appreciated by fans from the start.
Evangeline Lilly’s Wasp Haircut Was Never Planned
Fans have loved Wasp in MCU’s Ant-Man series from the beginning. Played by Evangeline Lilly, the studio put their best to end up with a look for the character that was as close to the original comic character as possible. That is something Marvel studio is already known to do with every character.

And despite people appreciating the long hairstyle tied in a pony by Hope Van Dyne or the Wasp, the hairdo sported by the character in the latest installment of the Ant-man film series, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, is the closest to the original hairdo of Hope Van Dyne in the comics.
But this idea to have a short brunette pixie cut was not a result of deep planning. According to the Yahoo interview back in February, Lilly described it as,
“It was kind of a convergence of circumstances,”
The actor shared that she already had the hairdo following the time she completely shaved off her hair four years before the film came out. And instead of going with a wig to continue with the previous look, Lilly just decided with the studio to keep the hairstyle but in brunette.

More on MCU’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania
The film is the third installment in the Ant-Man series which started back in 2015 with the first part. The latest film witnesses Scott Lang to Ant-Man played by Paul Rudd return. And this time around he embarks on a journey to the quantum realm with his partner Wasp played by Evangeline Lilly.
They encounter various creatures on their journey. The film is produced by Kevin Feige and was released on the 16th of February this year. However, the movie has received a very low rating on Rotten Tomatoes and other such rating platforms. This makes Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania the lowest-rated MCU film.
