“I still can’t believe she knows who I am”: Meghan Markle Has Beyoncé On Her Side While Kate Middleton Reportedly Plans Her Revenge After Netflix Documentary
Meghan Markle was a popular figure even before she tied the knot with Prince Harry in 2018. The Suits star had carved out a name for herself on the back of strong acting performances. So it wouldn’t come as a shock that a lot of people in the industry were close to her. The list of her celebrity friends is a long one and includes reputed entities. Even after her marriage in the royal family, her relations with her friends remain strong. They have stood by her through thick and thin. And once she got support from the most unexpected source – Beyoncé.
An acrimonious relation
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry left the royal family in 2020, after a series of disagreements between the duchess of Sussex and other members of the Royal Family, especially, Kate Middleton. The two have failed to see eye-to-eye on innumerable occasions. It is only natural that they failed to co-exist peacefully. The atmosphere became so acrimonious, that the Sussexes had no option but to leave Buckingham Palace.
But the disagreements have not subsided even after the separation. It has been claimed that the royal family is guilty of racially discriminating against the Dater’s Handbook actress. Royal supporters have thrown the 41-year-old under the bus on numerous occasions. The hate campaign from both sides has been unreal. And the royal family has a horde of royal writers and experts to sympathize with its cause.
Beyoncé is standing behind Meghan Markle
But Markle is not alone. The Random Encounter star brought Buckingham Palace to its toes after her bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey. That was what she achieved with the support of one of her friends. The royal family is still reeling under the pressure of the interview. Add to that the Netflix documentary, Harry & Meghan, and the royals are on the lookout for revenge, especially the princess of Wales, who is extremely furious.
But they would be wrong to assume that Markle has pulled all her punches. The list of her sympathizers runs long – and also includes Beyoncé. The Halo singer has expressed her support for Meghan Markle on numerous occasions. When she went to the 2022 Brit Awards with Jay Z, she paid a tribute to Markle. And (surprise! surprise!) the Crazy in Love singer even texted her.
Beyoncé to the rescue
After the Oprah interview, the world was polarized, with some people going all out against the royal couple, while others put their weight behind the two and tried to bring the royal family to shame. Beyoncé was a part of the latter group. In the last episode of Harry & Meghan, Markle told how the Single Ladies singer personally texted her to stay strong. She said,
“I still can’t believe she knows who I am. She said she wants me to feel safe and protected. She admires and respects my bravery and vulnerability and thinks I was selected to break generational curses that need to be healed.”
Given Beyoncé’s standing, it becomes important to remember that whatever the royal family has in mind, public opinion won’t sway against Meghan Markle that easily.
