“Men are really men”: Hugh Grant is Okay with Disappointing His Wife if it Means to Enjoy His Favorite Film
The official chocolate boy of Hollywood, Hugh Grant has been the face of widely watched romantic comedies like Notting Hill, Love Actually, and Four Weddings. The British actor even earned a Golden Globe for his performance in the 1994 released Funeral. The Emmy award-nominated actor tied the knot with Swedish TV producer Anna Elisabet Eberstein in 2018 and shares three children with her.
During an interview with a reputed media outlet, Hugh Grant revealed that he can even disappoint his Swedish wife when it comes to enjoying his favorite movie, The Sound Of Music.

Hugh Grant Believes It’s Okay To Disappoint His Wife When It Comes To Enjoying His Favourite Movie
During a question and answer segment with the entertainment outlet Wired, Hugh Grant spoke about his favorite movie and explained how he ended up disappointing his Swedish wife Anna Elisabet Eberstein. While responding to the question, the Nothing Hill star said-
“Sound Of Music. It’s a difficult situation as I am married to a Swedish woman, who comes from the north of Sweden, where men are really men, so manly that they hardly speak and they chop wood.”
Hugh Grant further explained how he is way different from Swedish men, and how it always disappoints his wife. He mentioned-
“What they don’t do is watch the Sound Of Music in the afternoon and sing along with the mother’s superior. When she sings Climb Every Mountain, they certainly don’t cry when the father Christopher Plummer is touched by his children singing and then joins in, I do cry, but the film is impeccable, there is not a single moment that I don’t love.”
Robert Wise directed The Sound Of Music had secured five Academy Awards back in 1965. The British actor was last seen in 2022 in HBO’s drama The Undoing, for which he even earned an Emmy Award nomination.
Hugh Grant Talks About His Wonka Co-star Timothee Chalamet
Hugh Grant collaborated with the Dune actor Timothee Chalamet for the 2023 released movie Wonka. The Love Actually actor played the character of the orange and green colored miniature character Oompa Loompa. During the promotion of Wonka with the media outlet People, Grant spoke about the movie Wonka, his character, and his co-star Timothee Chalamet. The 63-year-old actor revealed that he was a bit nervous about meeting his 27-year-old co-star. Grant said-
“I was a bit nervous of him. I don’t like people who are too successful, and I thought his career had gone a bit too well. But I did warm to him. He gave me good gossip.”

While talking about playing Oompa Loompa, Hugh Grant mentioned that he spent the maximum part of time in a tent due to the working arrangement to play the 18-inch tall character. He said-
“I couldn’t be on the set because I’m too big. But I was in a tent just nearby with my helmet on with all the cameras. A highly complicated business.”
With a production budget of $125 million, Wonka went on to collect a staggering box office collection of over $588 million worldwide. With an IMDb rating of 7.1 out of 10, Wonka can be streamed on Prime Video.
