Tatum’s work was appreciated in both projects, which led him to star in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra and G.I. Joe: Retaliation. Tatum’s introduction is incomplete without the mention of his contribution to Magic Mike movies.
Magic Mike was loosely based on Tatum’s experiences of being a stripper in Tampa, Florida, and was appreciated by the audience and the critics. Channing Tatum and Kirsten Dunst join forces for Roofman
Directed by Derek Cianfrance, Roofman, a true crime picture, is going to feature Channing Tatum and Kirsten Dunst. The movie is based on the remarkable story of Jeffrey Manchester, an eccentric and charming serial robber. Deadline reports that Manchester had broken into more than 60 McDonald’s overnight via the roof and emptied their cash registers. Jeffrey Manchester herded the staff into freezers and was called Rooftop Robber or Roofman.
Surprisingly, Roofman was also known for his gentle demeanor and reportedly rarely took up violence. After being convicted and imprisoned in 2000, the robber escaped jail to evade capture by holding up for months in Toys ‘R’ Us. He spent a month holed up in an abandoned Circuit City store.
Jeffrey Manchester survived on baby food and exercised using the bicycle in the store. He was recaptured and sent back to prison, and the movie is going to showcase Manchester’s month-long odyssey on the lam.
Dunst is reportedly going to play an employee working at the store and is unaware of Manchester watching her and falling in love with her. Upon meeting him, she finds him endearing, and the two of them form a serious bond until she finds out the truth about him. Dunst’s character, who is struggling to make ends meet and provide for her daughters, cannot stop caring about Jeffrey Manchester.
