Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning – Does Tom Cruise’s 7th Installment Have a Post-Credit Scene?
Tom Cruise is back with another mission filled with death-defying stunts from the Top Gun actor. Whether Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 1 has a post-credits scene or not is a trending question among the fans as of now. Fans are eager to know if the franchise has broken its tradition of never having a Mission: Impossible post-credits scene featured at the end of any movie or if the franchise retains this tradition and ignores the Hollywood trend.
Does Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible 7 Have A Post-Credits Scene?
Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 1 is the first of two new movies in the franchise but the question that is itching the fans is that, is there a Mission: Impossible 7 post-credits scene? Tom Cruise is back as Ethan Hunt for another mission, as the Mission: Impossible franchise returns in 2023 with the seventh installment in the spy action series.
As the filming of the sequel, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 2 has already been completed by director Christopher McQuarrie, the fans are all confused. In the recent years, it has become a Hollywood norm to include post-credits scenes that further set up sequels which is also the reason why fans have questions about if Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 1 has a post-credits scene.
Well, now it is confirmed that Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible 7 does not have a post-credits scene. Director Christopher McQuarrie decided to leave audiences with a conclusion to the current story that still sets up Mission: Impossible 8 through a proper ending instead of giving audiences an additional tease of what is coming next. As the movie’s title was sufficient to hint that this is not the end of Ethan Hunt’s story, including a post-credits scene would have been an unnecessary move for the sequel.
Why Is Tom Cruise Furious At Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer?
Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One is slated to release on July 12, about a week before the clash between Oppenheimer and Barbie. Talking about Barbenheimmer, the much-hyped theatrical clash between Christopher Nolan’s period film Oppenheimer and Greta Gerwig’s adaptation of Barbie, starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, on July 21, Cruise posted on Instagram, “I love a double feature, and it doesn’t get more explosive (or more pink) than one with Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer and Greta Gerwig’s Barbie.”
Though Cruise’s own film will release in cinemas nine days earlier. As per rumors, Tom Cruise was pissed off at Oppenheimer creators due to the Universal Pictures’ deal with IMAX theatres to release Nolan’s new explosive film shot on an IMAX camera, on July 21 and hold it for three weeks.
This would thus curtail the IMAX run of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One which is booked to play on the majority of North American IMAX screens when the film premieres on July 12, meaning that the film will only be shown on those screens for nine days.
