Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One Beats Top Gun: Maverick, Becomes Tom Cruise’s Highest Rated Movie Ever
Once again Tom Cruise has proved himself to be a top Hollywood star as his two recent consecutive films have received much positive response. In the case of Top Gun: Maverick released last summer, the film was undoubtedly the biggest one of the year with a whopping 1.4 billion dollars in worldwide box-office collection.
Similarly, this year the actor’s upcoming project Mission Impossible 7 has already shown its potential for being the biggest one in 2023. So far highly anticipated films such as DCEU’s The Flash, and Indiana Jones 5 have done a disappointing job bombing the box office.
And following this, it has come to light that the soon-to-be-released Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One has already surpassed the rating of the previous year’s Top Gun: Maverick. This seems to be a sure sign that Cruise is going to save the film scene once again, just like last summer.
Mission Impossible 7 Surpassed Top Gun: Maverick’s Rating on Rotten Tomatoes
Last year Tom Cruise had a smashing comeback with Top Gun: Maverick, which became the 2nd highest-grossing film of 2022. The movie did an amazing job at the box office with a worldwide collection amounting to 1.4 billion dollars against a budget of 170-177 million dollars only. It even received a high rating of 96% on Rotten Tomatoes. Now once again, the 61-year-old actor is coming back with the 7th installment of his Mission Impossible film series.

A lot of info about the film has come up with clips of Cruise performing dangerous stunts all by himself just as in the previous parts. And it has all been seemingly garnering positive attention from fans. The film is slated for a July 12 release, and it has already received a 98% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. This marks Cruise’s highest-rated film ever.
The film series might be sometimes filled with absurd and dangerous scenes such as jumping off a cliff while riding a bike, but this is exactly why Mission Impossible films have thrived. And after the disappointing result of highly anticipated films such as The Flash and Indiana Jones 5, Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning seems promising enough to change the scenes in cinemas so far this year.
A Brief Look at Mission Impossible 7
The upcoming Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, will revolve around its hero Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) who is going to venture into another of his deadly missions with his IMF team. But this time, they have to face a weapon of mass destruction capability called “the entity”. It is an AI program that has gained self-sustainability and is on the path to destroying humanity.
And just like always, there are multiple death-defying scenes that Hunt will go through to protect humanity at all costs. The film is slated to hit the theatres on 12 the of July this year.
