Although as soon as the movie was released there were constant speculations made by the fans that there was an alternate cut that had a more featured alternate ending and stronger ties to Zack Synder’s original cut of Justice League and more of Jared Leto’s curiously underused Joker. Owing to this speculation David Ayer and Leto stoked all the flames by dropping more details about alternate scenes, different takes, cut sequences, and reshuffled storylines.

David Ayer believes that his directors cut was far better

As the discussion and speculations regarding the director cut of Suicide Squad have gained more and more attention, the director of this movie David Ayer claims his cuts are far better than that of what was released. Just like in the case of Justice League, Ayer believes that even his edit should be given a chance to be out in public, but as the studio does not want any more drama with the old projects, he is himself chained to their working patterns.

Talking about this Ayer tweeted “All I know is my unseen film plays much better than the studio release. The interest in my cut being show seems real and organic. And Gunn told me it would have it’s time to be shared. He absolutely deserves to launch to launch his DC universe without more drama about old projects. In a way I’m chained to this thing. I’m riding a tiger here and navigating this situation the best I can. Life is a very strange journey”.

A very hefty portion of viewers are genuinely looking forward to the Ayers Cut of the movie Suicide Squad which they believe will contain a superior cinematic experience. Despite the huge demands of the fans, the studio does not seem to have any plan on releasing Ayer’s Cut. Although it is not much difficult to understand where this decision of the studio is coming from. Releasing Ayer’s Cut of Suicide Squad will only create confusion around the movie and its storyline whilst stealing the spotlight of their other upcoming project.

Understanding a similar notion, viewers on the other side of the spectrum have adopted more of a mocking stance. These viewers believe that this demand for Ayer’s Cut is not a moment of enlightenment but just unrealistic demand from the end of both directors and fans without acknowledging the complexity of filmmaking.

Despite all of these ongoing discourses on the different social media platforms, the fate of the Suicide Squad Ayer Cut remains uncertain.
