CBS has announced a fresh take on the Sherlock Holmes series. The network is coming up with a new drama featuring Morris Chestnut as Dr. John Watson, the famous partner of the much-loved detective Sherlock Holmes.

The fresh take on the Sherlock Holmes series has been announced in the form of Watson. The TV series will revolve around one of the most prominent figures from the spy adventure drama Dr. John Watson. The biggest flaw is the absence of Robert Downey Jr. as Sherlock Holmes. Reportedly, the show would be set during the time when Holmes is already dead.

As reported by the reputed media outlet Deadline, the President of CBS Entertainment Amy Reisenbach spoke about the upcoming series. She said-

“We are thrilled to feature such a beloved character from the world of Sherlock Holmes at the center of this series and have it brought to life by Morris Chestnut in a fresh and unexpected take on the immortal doctor. Craig Sweeney’s bold new vision for the complex Dr. Watson deftly interweaves rich character storytelling with edge-of-your-seat medical mysteries.”

Not much has been revealed about the upcoming series, but according to the limited information provided by the CBS Entertainment network, it is expected to premiere in 2024-2025 on TV.

According to the information provided by CBS Entertainment, Watson is based in a universe, where Sherlock Holmes has been killed by Moriarty, his nemesis. Dr. Watson has started his medical career too. The major twist in the show is the transition from mystery cases to complicated medical cases dealt with by Dr. John Watson.
