“Nightmare, Years and Years of crying”: Kate Moss Did not Hesitate to Admit that Johnny Depp Was the Only One Who Took Care of Her
Kate Moss and Johnny Depp’s relationship was a fiery affair back in the 90s. The two started dating in 1994 and called it quits in 1997. There were rumors that the two had even gotten engaged at a point but things clearly didn’t end well for their ship. The reason behind their split was never officially revealed but later during an interview with Hello! Magazine, the Pirates of the Caribbean actor graciously took all the blame. It was made clear that Moss was the one who walked out and that Depp had given her sufficient reasons to, by prioritizing his work over her. However, walking out of the relationship was just as hard for Moss as she revealed over a decade later.
Kate Moss opened up about how Johnny Depp took care of her
Kate Moss gave an interview with Vanity Fair back in 2012, where she talked about an array of things, from how much she hated her early modeling days to what it is like being a hell-raiser. The supermodel talked about how the reason behind her being so incredulously thin during the early days of her career was the fact that she wasn’t properly fed.
She explained how she had a round-the-clock schedule and by the time she returned to Milan B and B, where she was living at the moment, she couldn’t get any food either. Early morning work timings meant she couldn’t eat then too, and as she described it, no one came to the rescue, no one even took her to lunch, and no one really cared about her or her health. That’s when Johnny Depp walked in.
An icon through and through
In the said Vanity Fair interview, Moss shared how heartbreaking it was to leave Depp.
“There’s nobody that’s ever really been able to take care of me. Johnny did for a bit. I believed what he said. He’d tell me. And that’s what I missed when I left. I really lost that gauge of somebody I could trust. Nightmare. Years and years of crying. Oh, the tears!”
Flash forward to 2022, Kate Moss was a pivotal witness in Johnny Depp’s defamation trial against Amber Heard. She took Depp’s side in the case claiming that she wasn’t pushed down the stairs but rather accidentally fell. Her confession from 10 years ago additionally suggests that Depp had indeed been a caring and loving person, whom she regretted losing, and not an abuser like Heard made him out to be.
