“No, not after this interview”: Sandra Bullock’s Awkward Interview Over Her Naked Scenes With Ryan Reynolds Might be Painful to Watch For Her Fans
Sandra Bullock is one of the most talented actresses of her generation. Known for her spectacular performances on the big screen, the actress has appeared in movies of a variety of genres such as the 2009 biographical drama The Blind Side, and comedies such as Miss Congeniality, Two Weeks Notice, and The Proposal.
Sandra Bullock often gets her fans talking after her appearances for interviews and movie premieres, for instance, one time she started speaking in German on The Red Carpet. Another time when she was promoting her 2009 film The Proposal which has several revealing scenes of the actress with her co-star Ryan Reynolds, interviewer Matt Lauer kept referencing those scenes repeatedly.

Sandra Bullock Refused To Return Back To The Today Show
Although The Proposal, directed by Anne Fletcher, received mixed-to-positive reviews from critics, the movie went on to become a box-office success grossing more than $317 million worldwide against its production budget of $40 million.
In the movie, Sandra Bullock is seen in the role of Margaret Tate, the editor-in-chief at an NYC book publisher and Ryan Reynolds portrays Andrew Paxton who is Margaret’s assistant. Some of the scenes in the movie show The Lost City with Reynolds naked but they are not supposed to be the sole focus of the movie.
While Bullock had no issue in discussing those scenes, the fact that the Today Show interviewer Matt Lauer kept bringing them up certainly made the whole interview very awkward for the actress. Not only did he make a comment about it at the beginning of the show but also mentioned it towards the end of it.
So, naturally, when he insisted that Sandra Bullock come to the Today Show more often, the actress was quick to retort with “No, not after this interview, no.” She stayed true to her words as she did not make an appearance on the show until 2018 and another one in 2021.
Sandra Bullock Does Not See The Point In Doing Revealing Scenes
Sandra Bullock has established a reputation as one of the best actors in Hollywood. She has certainly worked hard to achieve what she has so reducing it all to a single revealing scene in a movie was not the best or even professional move on Matt Lauer’s part. The interviewer received negative feedback for his behavior and yet repeated his mistake again during an interview with Anne Hathaway.
Bullock told Lauer that she only agreed to do the scenes because they were light-hearted and even humiliating to a certain degree. She said:
“I was like, ‘I will do this naked scene only if I can be humiliated and funny.’ You will not see me trying to attempt being sexy naked — in real life or onscreen. There’s just no point in it! It was for that reason, with a friend that you trusted comedically, and safety-wise I knew I was in the presence of safety.”
The fact that despite knowing her true feelings about the scenes, Matt Lauer kept bringing it up, again and again, is truly surprising as it made the interview environment quite uncomfortable for his guest.
