Breaking Bad’s biggest highlight was Walter White and Jesse Pinkman becoming near mirror opposites of one another with every step ahead, making their every joint presence an edge-of-the-seat moment. Thus, in talks with the Today Show in 2019, Aaron Paul mentioned the ninth episode from season two, 4 Days Out, as his all-time favorite, one which featured plenty of banter between the two.

My favorite episode of Breaking Bad was an episode called 4 Days Out is where Walt and Jesse find themselves in the middle of the desert and their RV breaks down and they’re just trying to figure out how to how to survive and get out of there.

The narrative in this particular chapter had the two central characters drive their RV into the Mexican desert for four days straight. However, intensely dramatic, as well as slapstick comedic moments, soon took place when their vehicle’s battery died out, leaving them to turn their fates around. As such, Paul attributed 4 Days Out as his favorite, primarily because of his on-screen dynamics with Bryan Cranston.

In one interview with The Independent, he stated that the episode “felt like a two-man play”. Jesse’s suggestions going from mixing chemicals for a signal flare to making some kind of robot while Walter lay stricken on the floor, stood out. Evidently, the episode also ranked high on fans’ radars, with a 9.1 out of 10 rating on IMDb.

Episode 14 from Season 5 of Breaking Bad titled Ozymandias still holds the distinction of being the highest-rated television episode on IMDb, even after more than a decade of its airing. Building upon a cliffhanger, it featured Bryan Cranston putting his acting skills on full display with broad emotional depth, intensity, and complexity while Aaron Paul complemented him with his part seamlessly.

Rated 10 on 10, the 47-minute episode had Walter White undergo a complete moral decay. Additionally, his relationship with Jesse undergoes a complete breakdown following his betrayal and capture of the latter. Furthermore, the lead protagonist kidnapping his own baby, and hurting and manipulating his wife, marked the complete storyline arc that Breaking Bad pulled off in one of the greatest TV plots.
