‘Nothing Like a Couple of Rich F*cks Smoking Cigars, Passing Judgment’: Internet All Set to Cancel Joe Rogan After ‘Go Shoot The Homeless’ Comment
Joe Rogan faced backlash on social media after he talked about shooting homeless people with Tom Segura on the July 14 episode of his podcast, which streams on Spotify. The duo talked about L.A.’s unhoused population, seemingly comparing the response to L.A.’s crime issues to the homelessness crisis.
Joe Rogan suggested “shooting homeless people”
In California, the homeless population is rapidly growing at an alarming rate. Most of them are having a hard time earning a livelihood after the global pandemic. Rogan himself decided to leave Los Angeles due to this issue. The duo talked about this issue,
Tom Segura: When you see stuff like that on the streets, at least in Los Angeles or California, that’s protected property. Like by law. That’s that person’s property by law.
Joe Rogan: Oh, a homeless person’s property is protected?
Segura: Absolutely. If you were to try to move that or take that—
Rogan: You’d get arrested. Hilarious. But they wouldn’t arrest you if you shot somebody. Maybe you should just go shoot the homeless people.
Segura: I like your ideas.
Rogan: And if nobody claims it. I mean nobody does anything about violent crime in LA anymore.

People on social media bashed him for his tone-deaf comments
People on Twitter came after the duo as people didn’t like their joke at all. This just reveals the type of person Rogan is. In the past, he got rough with guests and even violent.
Nothing like a couple of rich fucks setting around smoking cigars and criticizing people at their rock bottom.

Sickening. Joe Rogan, who’s worth millions, pontificates on the plight of homeless people, then decides the best solution may be just to “shoot the homeless people”. pic.twitter.com/mgBGmarzgP

Theo Henderson, the creator of the podcast “We the Unhoused”, shared his opinions
Theo Henderson, the creator of the podcast “We the Unhoused” said that Joe Rogan’s comments could instigate violence directed at homeless people. Henderson said,
“It’s repulsive. It’s infuriating because it’s not only out of touch, but the reality is that unhoused people are targeted by housed people. To advocate trying to shoot at unhoused people or just giving these dog whistles to people that do not see unhoused people as human beings — I can’t believe you’d advocate for it.”
Theo Henderson also suggested the actual solutions that could be discussed in his podcast,
“Two good things that are basically universal [for the unhoused population] that would be a great help are bathroom access and shower depots, where unhoused people would be able to take care of themselves without being considered pariahs”
Joe Rogan’s show streams on Spotify, It is the most-listened podcast on the platform. Spotify signed a $100 million multiyear deal with Rogan in 2020, for exclusive rights to distribute his podcast.
